Holiday Gifts
A few Lego gifts that I have given out recently.
About this creation
As you may or may not know, there have been two pretty big contests on MOCpages recently, The MOC Olympics and Dem Bones Haunted Holloween Contest. The winners of those contests (myself and Thorsten Bonsch AKA Mr. Xenomurphy) chose to donate our prizes from those contests to charity.

The charity we chose was La Rabida Children's Hospital on the south side of Chicago.

These are the prizes, several Atlantis sets and a complete set of Series 2 minifigures.

Here's the hospital where I brought the donation 12/23/10.

Here is Jason, a representative of the hospital, accepting the gift.

Thank you very much to Thorsten and the MOC Olympics organizers for donating the Lego, I'm sure it will make some kids very happy this Christmas!

On to some builds!

First we have a gift for my pal Gareth, who will be giving this to his girlfriend Rebecca for Christmas. She's in a band (Slow Club) and plays drums (no cymbals), guitar and sings.

Next we have a gift for the 1st birthday of my friend's daughter. I based this on the work of Cole Blaq and brick.series.

Finally we have a gift for my coffee loving friend. She actually received a Starbucks gift card inside the cup, but I didn't have it with me at the time I took the picture.

Well, that's all for now. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season, receives mounds of Lego and is inspired to build amazing creations!

Wow what a huge donation! Good on ya mate. I think that name is just beautiful. I am very inspired by it. I have a new baby niece on the way... I might design something like that for her for when she is born.

Very awesome man!! I personally have been saving the money I would have spent on other people's gifts and spending it on rare whiskeys. We each have our hobbies I suppose. :P

So noble, giving away so much lego. I hope your selflessness inspires many others in acts of generosity.

Well done, my friend, well done. The kids at the hospital will put the donations to good use and the gifts you created will surely be appreciated by the receivers. I wish I would have approached Neil Peart's drumkit with the same attention to detail!

Wonderful builds and sentiments Dave. The coffee cup is delightful (and I'm not a coffee drinker myself), and I notice your fonts are getting more elaborate. Thank you for all you offer to the community, Lego or otherwise. The best of holiday seasons to you.

Wow! That's great and really inspiring that you donated your prizes. I think I'm kinda tearing up right now...and that coffee cup is excellent! I'd love to see you do a series of macro-scale mocs.
