The Red Terror
A terrible pirate ship, captained by the dreaded Chimp, Captain Clyde, whose mere name sets fear in the heart of all seafaring men.
About this creation
YARRRGHH!! Time for another pirate ship me heartys. So click the “X” on your multicolored Halo MOCs, Goodbye MOCpages MOCs, grab yourself some popcorn and Pepsi (Yarrr! this be an Alcohol free pirate ship lads!) and we’ll get this show on the road!
Well, I’m proud to say that I’ve been building this thing for 3 years, (its been taken apart a lot) and…… I’m STILL not done. Yes, lots of work to do on this one. I was pleased with how it turned out though…
SO WITHOUT FURTHER ADO---- THE MOC
THE STORY
The Red Terror, a pirate ship originally built for armament, rather than speed, was captained by the infamous Red Beard. However, his chimp, Clyde, a former actor who stared in Every Which Way but Loose (yes, I know, doesn’t fit the time period. Boo Hoo Hoo.), decided to do something about his low banana salary. After staging a mutiny with 2 other monkeys, Clyde imprisoned the former crew, and began his reign of terror as captain. He quickly built up a reputation as the most bloodthirsty pirate around, who would quickly sell his own mother for some bananas.

An overall view of the ship. I had a hard time getting most of it in the shot.

Another one, this time focusing on the bottom.

Captain Clyde, the bloodthirsty monkey himself. I had to put that hat on a couple of times before it would stay. Yes. All for you. My loyal readers. (What? No one?)

The remaining crew. I like this shot.

What’s hold the crew up. I was inspired by The Red Beard Runner, a pirate ship released sometime in the late 90s.

Another crew member. By Pete, he looks pretty distressed.

Some flags on the back of the captain’s cabin, to be seen later. This is at the far end of the ship.

The lower deck. That was really important, the ability to get to the lower decks. That’s why I made the top deck removable. In an earlier version, I had 3 decks. Unfortunately, it was impossible to get to any of them.

Cargo hold.

Arms. Just in case of a British counter attack.

The Captain’s Cabin. I’m still working on this…

From outside.

The upper deck. I tried to make the whole thing no studs but I didn’t have the pieces.

One of Clyde’s co-conspirators.

A long dead crewmember, stuffed in a barrel. I dunno. I just wanted to stuff skeleton legs in a barrel. Thought it’d look cool.

Another Monkey. This one particularly bloodthirsty.

My favorite part of the MOC. Ya know this thingamajib between the cannons. Whatever they’re called.

Another one of my favorite features. I like this technique.

Nice fences huh? Yeah, I like ‘em too.

The back. I know, bad pic, whatever. And yes, I’m missing a window. Heck, it was in a battle. Gimme some credit. Jeez.

Let’s end this one with another photo of a monkey in the rigging. Merry Christmas from A Monkey.

Quoting Mister Bones Do you not have any sails from other ships? If not, maybe a small Bricklink order. Ship looks great though. Saw your comments on Andrew Knox's political MOCs, they gave me a good laugh, but I do not think he is on the pages anymore. He is a nice kid, bit brainwashed to the left, but a nice guy.
HAHAHA, when I saw them I just had to comment though... I do, but I feel that sail's like the Brickbeards bounty set; Red Beard Runner and Imperial flagship don't really fit the feel I want for this MOC. I kinda put this one away for the summer, when it will undergo yet another redoing. I wanted to make my own sails, but I'm sort of lost as to what to do... I was planning on doing a giant diorama with my British Fort MOC in it and some other, smaller ships. However, compared to many of the ships around here (I just saw the bing bong brothers WIP) This is miniscule. I'm also having trouble when I make mutiple decks, they never have the shape I want them to, and pieces fall into the ship and I can never get them out. Any suggestiongs on ANY of these problems would be welcome. It seems I have 40 (lego) projects going on at once...

Quoting Mister Bones Excellent colors on this baby! Now, does that silly monkey know he needs a sail?
Yeah, I know. I don't know what to do for one though.

Nice! I like the dragon on the bow. Great color scheme. Some sails would make it even better!

Quoting Tyler Halliwell I wish it had a sail, or at least oars. Either way, this ship is quite fantastic. Nice job.
Yeah, I forgot to mention that I hadn't made the sails yet. I need to develop a technique. I'm still working on it, the sails are the hardest part.

Quoting Areetsa C You know, I thought this was going to be some kind of space-faring sailing ship made to tie-in to Frogspace? Still pretty good, though. W' regards to "im qitting ;_;" pages: oh yeah.
I'm not a space guy. I like building in pirates and stuff. And thanks.

Quoting Waffles . Positively one of the best ships I have seen on mocpages. Not quite the best, but close. I can't wait for the finishing touches to be made! The skeleton legs sticking out of the barrel was cool though. ~Waff
I'm flattered. Jeez, I didn't think it was THAT good.

Thanks. My favorite part is the colors too. I have a lot of detail work to do on the inside though.

As a side note, I agree wholeheartedly with your homepage rant. I guess you beat Areetsa to it. ;)

Thanks. I've noticed that problem for a while now. It's pretty annoying.
