- Thoughts:

I got some of the Alien figs from series three and decided to build them a scout ship. More or less was also an experiment with color (I'm usually a monochromatic and not-so-bold color builder). Also wanted to use those pod pieces for forever now, so I built the ship around that in conjunction with the octagon shape.

The main idea was to build the ship as squid-like as possible without making it look too organic. I figured all the angles and slopes and the tesla coil-like weapons couldn't hurt either.

Enjoy!

That's a great design, it really stands out! A fitting vehicle for its occupants for sure :)

Quoting Michael Rutherford It's your birthday...It's your birthday...Go Space Squidies...Go Space Squidies...These squidbillys are lucky! How many AFOLS would build a spaceship JUST for two new minifigs? I wonder, do they KNOW how lucky they are? Probably not. They probably just worry about where the next crab cake is coming from. No back bone! Mollusks! Attack!
They just don't know how lucky they are, I guess! So where did the term "squidbilly" come from anyway? You and Goldman called them that at the con too, and I was confused... inside joke, perhaps?

The colors are right on. Lime green never looked so good! I like the stud ring in the middle that holds the whole thing together. Lots of flexability in the "tenticals". Attack!

X-Pod use! Those X-Pods are hard to use for a lot of things, aren't they? From certain angles, it resembles a giant space grasshopper. Oddly effective color combination, as well.
