GMC Sierra custom
GMC Sierra customized sporttruck
About this creation
Lugnuts is a group of many Lego car and truck builders and each month a contest is organised. For December everybody who entered got a random assignment, and i got the task to build a 90's GMC Sierra sporttruck in a tricked out version.

As there is totally no sporttruck culture in Europe i did some research on these highly customized trucks. I started to like the subject a lot, and tried to create a custom example inspired both by US and European custom and tuning trends. It is in scale 1:17, features Lambo doors, and a flipable hood and trunk. Besides this there is a modelled and chromed engine, exhaust and independent suspension. Being a lowrider the airtanks are in the back, including hosing etc. The interior features sportseats and special steering wheel.

This new technology has removed the clatter upon the diesel engines. It produces the power of at 397 horsepower at 3,000 rpm and 765 pound-feet of torque at 1,600 rpm. For being a truck it can absorbs about 4,165 pounds at its single-wheel rear axle. This is no doubt an interesting hybrid with fine technology and good looks. http://www.usedtruckstogo.com

Automatic dual climate zone, four wheel drive, solid or redundant steering wheel controls, power adjustable pedals, and a USB port to plug in an iPod or phone all these are only the specialty of a truck 2011 GMC Sierra 3500HD. To make it more subtle General Motors have also installed a standard one star system, which helps the driver to call the one star operator for directions installed in the car to reach the destination. http://www.carsfind.net/blog/2011-gmc-sierra.html

The car per se is already outstanding but the black & orange scheme with chrome pinstripe increases the awesomeness by about 99.8%. Cool customized Sierra... Groetjes, Jens

While I personally will never understand taking a perfectly good truck and lowering it to within inches of the ground, you've managed to capture said idiocy perfectly! The working parts are amazing, not to mention all the yummy chrome.~H

I'd never drive a thing like this (In fact I'd never drive any of my models if they'd ever come alive) but that doesn't mean it ain't beautiful! This is amazing! It definitelly looks like something american machine psychos would do. This is a beautiful display of the car. Details are amazing! You got one minus though - For God's sake put in some pictures of the front!

It's so... orange! I love the orange and black paint scheme, and despite the fact that all the chrome is non-purist, I really quite like it. The form and function are great, but the color scheme really makes this awesome.
