MI-12 'Puppet Master' Reconaissance Mecha
A super-sneaky mecha designed for infiltration and spying. Built for a MOC-off with Lando L. Jackson
About this creation
During the Monkey Wars it was decided that something sneakier would be 'Pretty awesome'. So Froggy High Command commissioned an infiltration mecha so they could 'Do all that Ghost Recon Stuff'. From this impulsive order was born the Puppet Master, some horrifying fusion of Ghost in the Shell and Star Wars. Operating under a special clause in the average being's subconscious (Where it ignores that which is too stupid to be real), the machine provides a facade of realism, which the subjects' minds latch onto and accept. Using this, it is able to slip past guards and other observers and perform whatever tasks it has been assigned. The most successful mission ever accomplished by one of these machines involved the pilot declaring a Monkey General to be an impostor, taking his place, leading the Monkey armies to certain defeat, making off with the majority of Monkey cipher codes, and a prototype transport. Since then, the machines have been employed in many theaters of war and a variety of entertainment roles.

Here we see the machine in a lovely 3/4 view. The multiple sets of camera eyes add to the creepy-robo-spider effect the designers aimed to achieve.
Would you believe this was inspired by Despicable Me?

Were you the targeted species or faction, you would not notice that this is, in fact a head on view of the robot. You would instead pay attention to the blurry puppet.
It's true! I was inspired by those cookie robots.

Look deep into it's many eyes...
It was originally much more like them, but then it evolved

The somewhat cluttered side view
Now it looks like it belongs in Ghost in the Shell

This puppet is made from 96% real monkey and 54% stuff we found on the side of the road. Your puppet's composition will vary.
Or like one of those SW monks.

The powerplant is stored above the pilot and to the rear.
I don't want to look them up right now. It's B'omarr or something like it.

Side view again.
Anybody ever play Armored Core: For Answer?

Hey buddy, wanna see a magic trick?
It's fun, you pilot a giant robot.

The pilot sits beneath the armored carapace, in a panoramic dome.
I chose to support GA, so I could get big guns and heavy mechs.

Our machine doesn't just fool monkeys, it fools*:
Victorian Era British Soldiers
Now I'm screwed because everyone else is a light mech.

Imperial Stormtroopers
It's not very fun to be the fat kid in the fight.

The Rebel Alliance
And it doesn't last too long, either.

Those gangsters you owe money to
Anyways, have fun with your lives now kids!

*Additional puppets sold separately. May or may not work on cleverer or more aware individuals. Use at own risk.

4th Intelligence Agency to the Right:
Man, haven't done one of these in awhile. Anywho, this was built for a MOC-off with Lando L. Jackson in the category of Frogspace Mecha. He built a nicely articulated frogsuit, and I built a spider. I wonder who has the stranger worldview...
Anyways, I stole the basic concept of this from Teik Joon's VENTRILOQUIST hardsuit. If you have the time, look through his stream, it's absolutely hilarious. His builds are some of the quirkiest I've ever seen. And that about wraps it up! Thanks for stopping by, and have a nice day!

Got your response, thanks! There seems to be some mis-communication. This page has the MOC that Jackson told me was your entry in a competition with him (here's his entry, by the way: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/244115). However, if you weren't aware of there being a MOC-off, I'm wondering what he's thinking? I'll sit tight until you guys communicate with one another. If you still end up needing me to judge something, I'll certainly be glad to do it.

Jackson asked me if I'd judge the MOC-off, and I'd certainly be glad to - but I want to get the thumbs up from both of you before taking a serious look and making the call. Just leave a comment on any of my creations letting me know it's okay with you, and we'll do this. If you'd rather have someone else do it, that's cool, too, just let me know. Thanks!

Hmmm, Not Sure How A Large Spider Mech With A Puppet Could Fool Me, But If It Did, I Would Be Angry As All Get Out.

Quoting Dr. HappyBaboon , PhD Hey, when do we get to see some Monkey stuff? ;)
Soon, soon :)
Quoting A minute ago ... Very cool design, and great commentary!
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!
Quoting Lando L. Jackson I wasn't really 'counting myself out', just being "modest". :)
Ah, okay then! That's different.
Quoting Matt David The Monkeys have scarfs now? That is ADORABLE!
Of course! They have to accessorize. It's essential to maintaining the army's fabulosity.
Quoting Nick Nitro Brick would it be okay if I used that kinda leg design i just love it. does that frog control it or somthing
Sure! As long as I get some credit I'm happy. And yes, the frog is the pilot.

Quoting Swift ~ Stormie puppet commanding troops. Win. nice build and commentary is good as always. Happy New Year!~Swift
Thanks, and happy new year to you as well!
Quoting Waffles . Spider-mech, spider-mech, regular neighborhood spider mech. ~Waff
However this mech won't be saving you from your neighborhood villians. Chances are it is one.
Quoting Lando L. Jackson I asked the MOColympics judges if they could judge, but I guess they don't really look over there any more... I better make a form comment...
Good luck dude!

Quoting W. Mark I think you've won this. Great work, and the write-up is funny as always.
Thanks! I appreciate your confidence in my build!
Quoting Lando L. Jackson I think you have me beat, but really, great concept. Those puppets really seem to be top-grade military technology, and especially good for sneaking past those arachnaphobes who would much rather see a monkey clomping towards them.
Thanks Lando! Don't count yourself out just yet. It's up to the judges who wins, not us.
Quoting Cody G Puppets and robo-spiders? Splendid!
Who'd have thought such an unlikely match could be so wonderful?
Quoting Daniel sniper (flip a letter) wow!! now thats a spider!
Or more specifically, is not one ;)
Quoting Areetsa C Like. A note, if you would: traditionally, spies carry gadgets and those little shocky things built into car keys. Why does this not have a grappling pen and/or a large 20 tube big shocky thing*? *: because frogs, being frogs, will never tolerate a single little shocky thing when they can possibly get away with 20 big ones.
I figured it didn't need additional gadgets because it was a gadget. Sort of like Bond's special cars.

Quoting Chris Phipson Not my favorite of yours, but still lots of fun! Nice work! ~ Chris.
Thanks Chris! I was running short on mech ideas, so I decided to just have fun with it!
Quoting Pascal Schmidt Frogspider is win.
It's perfect for five year olds because it's doubly scary to little girls.
Quoting Joachim Ko Cool!
Thank'ee matey!
Quoting Deus The Risen This frogs and monkeys thing seems popular... I might take a try. MIGHT.
I think it's a lot of fun. And I'm much better at building on a smaller scale, so this is perfect for me.
