A model of 1830 locomotive with few train cars, made by Stephenson. This version is a bit modified to be more effective, allowing to haul heavier cargo.

As for my first train, I find it quite good. If only I had proper train wheels...

Funny thing occured here, and I didn't notice it. My background paper folded a bit and formed a hill which is hiding wheels here...

While finding schematics and photos of newer Rocket was easy, finding anything about the tender was not. I ended up basing the tender on older one.

Unfortunately, pistons are not working. It was hard to attach them to those wheels, and after few tries I gave up. However, you can move the pistons in or out - just a flash of poseability.

Also, while it may not look so, the boiler is a really hard SNOT work here. See that double half-plate-height line on top of it? Fine. Now guess what part is it :)

I like this little detail - a pile of coal.

The engineer feeding the furnace with coal.

   Underside, showing a few details.

A lorry filled with technic beams. Again a SNOTwork here, but quite basic.

I am really proud of the chassis here. Looks so realistic!

Flatcar with some random cargo - bridge arch and some barrels and a chest.

Not having specialised train parts created a few problems, not only with wheels. I had to find out how to connect the cars... but what seemed hard at first became almost stupidly simple.

good thing that as your first train you build one of the very first trains ever... anyway big lego train wheels(among other interesting stuff) can be found at big ben bricks on the internet... take a look but they are a bit expensive

maybe if you used large pulleys for the front wheels it might run on something
