Coalition D-Class Frigate
A new heavily armed frigate to escort the huge Battle cruisers and Warships of the Coalition. My first MOC for this year.
About this creation
This is my entry to the contest/MOC-off between Michael Sloper, Matt The Backward One, and Me.
Category: Frigate or Destroyer

I'm pleased with how this one turned out, this build is based more on Ian's style of building than usual, but I still kept my signature elongated-hexagonal shape for the front of the ship.

Very pleased with the engines, that is usually the part of the ship I stuff up on, but not this time.

That long gap between the top and bottom of the front part of the ship is actually a hangar. Remember this is only a frigate, so it is on a much larger scale than a ship like my Star of Aor, for example.

The D-Class is armed with 4 heavy MAPD side cannons, 16 rotary cannons, and the usual Uber cannon at the front of the ship.

4 small- but main engines, two large support engines.

Top view.

Bridge and fuel tank thing details.

Thanks for looking.

I really like the style your cutting out between this and the other COP cruisers, really adds a lot to your profile as a whole...gonna have to think about that on my own MOC's in the future. Another great addition here.

Very nice, I just realized how massively out of place my sleek new fighters that I'm so proud of really are. Oh well, back to blocky for me.

Sweet geebling you have going here Danny! Every part of it looks like it was put into a good amount of time. The only thing I noticed was the front part. It almost looks like the exact same design as your herald of dawn. Anyway, great work on this! I really have my work cut out for me.

Very detailed. What's it's scale? Sorta looks like a Droid ship from star wars.

Great job here danny. The overall design looks to be well thought-out, and screams C.O.P. Keep em coming.

Looks a bit stubby in my opinion, but I guess that gives it a more substantial feel. Nice frigate, nevertheless. I should try my hand at one of these sometime.

Nice proportioning and design... any chance you'll scale this up even further (say twice as big in every direction) for more glorious greebling?

Not bad, not bad at all. 20 or 30 of these might scratch the Dawn Breaker, but just the paint... Haha, nice build, and a great job! -Ultra

Great ship Danny! It looks a bit like a hammer... Then again almost every ship looks like one. Great design, the whole thing is good.

Impressive, very very impressive. One of the best coalition ships I've seem in terms of shape.

Like it a lot, a very purposeful design which shows function over form but still gets across the power and intent. One design point - there's a pretty large weapons blindspot in the aft quarter, perhaps a small turret above and below the engines would discourage any attacks from that angle.

Quoting Lt. John Harland I love your overall design but my favorite part is the side turret thing. It's something I've never seen before, not to mention how great it looks!
Thanks!

Looks good. I personally think it could do with some more guns, but yeah, that's just me.

No, you can keep it, but remember this in the future.

Quoting Awesome-o-saurus The Not-So-Great It can be a D-class frigate, but of all the letters of the Tarsin alphabet (somewhere around 30 or so), why choose one that's been used somewhere else?
Because.... My Nick name is D-dog, so D-class suits something I make... Kinda.... If it's a nuisance I can change it.

Quoting Jason Dominguez Cool style frigate you got here. The design is well thought out and excellently executed. In my opinion, though, I think this ship would be better designated a carrier due to your design characteristics. Don't mind me, I just love to design and draw ships.
Thanks, and I agree it looks more like an imposing carrier than a humble frigate, but it's for a Frigate contest, so not much I can do except build another one...

Quoting Awesome-o-saurus The Not-So-Great This is most definitely a COP ship. Though you may want to change the name, we already have a D-class Warpship (and an E-class).
But it's a frigate, can't it be a D-Class Frigate?
