Bainbridges department store
Bainbridges the department store based on chain buildings from the 20/30's!
About this creation
This is my MOC of a department store, with 3 floors, the first being fashions for both men and women, the middle floor for furniture and the top floor as a small cafe/bar, the building has a 20/30's theme, many chain buildings in the UK built in that time were styled similar (Burtons the tailors, woolworths, co-operatives and M&S), sadly many of them have fallen into disrepair so I wanted to capture some of their great features in this MOC. The name Bainbridges is from one of the oldest department stores in my hometown Newcastle which sadly no longer exists. The original store was from the mid 1800's so in no way looked like a 30's shop.

This is lovely - it looks just right for the period, especially in the black and white photos. The careful detailing of the Victorian building and the well thought out window displays all add to the atmosphere of this beautiful MOC.

Thanks! I thought this MOC was great to look at head on, I didn't make it very deep though, although the MOC im working on now is similar to this one but bigger! :D

Quoting redhead1982 lego I like it a lot. The overall design of the building is nice, detailed, yet kept very simple not to show off too much. Making photos a black-and-white makes the building look even more special. On the inside, I like how you put the stairs. It's a great idea to save some space, and make the interior full and symetric.
Yeah thats the beauty of Art-Deco, its bold in size but understated and unfussy due to the streamlining and less colours, the stairs were the part that took the longest and were a nightmare :) Thanks for the comments! :D

Nice sphere of the 20 and 30ies. The B&W photos add more to the sphere. The building and interior are great. The furniture is nice designed.
