This is my Grand Groovepunk idea. Woodstock 2269 which is the 300 anniversary of the this hippy defining event. As soon as I saw the contest description of what should be in entered I thought of all the hippy events there are. You have protests, you have drugs, you have music, but what event that combined it all. Woodstock happened between August 15 and August 18. It was a music festival to top all music festivals. It took place in Woodstock Va, on a dairy farm. Bands from all over the word came to play during this orignally 3 straight day event. Playing throug the rain and on into the night you had bands such as The Who, Jimi Hendrix, and Santana. The place was only supposed to hold a quater of the 200,000 people who attened (obviously there is not 200,000 minifigs). I felt a need to recreate this event both to my amusement and for the enjoyment of others. The first pictures are a 360 of the lawn and stage area.
This is our friendly "No disassemble!" Johnny Five. Yes I do know that he is from the 80's but what other peace loving robot do you know? I had to pioneer this guy because appearently everyone else is busy assembling other robots. He is holding a electrict guitar that he plugs in.... uhhh nevermind. I also included a "flower" trumpet player behind him.
My drummer may be a bit green in the face but he is ready to spread the love with "flower heads".
This gungun is playing a hermonica and I felt impressed to include the 6 main instruments that were played on stage. The hermonica, saxophone, and trumpet were the three minor instuments campaired to the guitar, drums, and piano.
An overhead shot of the event.
A lot of people at woodstock actually did bring there own instuments to play along with their favorite bands. Can you find them all?
Two hippies embrassing the classic "make love, not war" phrase... and each other.
To end the it all this is the best I could do to make the hippy flag of peace.
