A Very Understanding Wife
It was too cold to work in the garage so I convinced my wife to let me set up the Blacktron Intelligence Agency strectching out of my toy room into the family room. I've added 2 more monorail spires, 4 new south towers and reworked much of the surface area in preparation for my 2011 National Tour startng in St. Louis the end of this month.
About this creation

Looking out of my toy room toward the family room. How many wives would let their husband commandeer so much territory during the holiday season? I've been blessed these passed 31 years with the most understanding wife a man could have!

Please forgive the blue masking tape markers as I left them on in the photos to help with assembly.

Four new south towers to give the layout some height at that end.

Wow! And again, Wow :) That's some layout. I missed Blacktron the first time around, but I guess this MOC makes up for that! Great to see the Galaxy Commander variations too, I do remember those. Great stuff, I wish I had the opportunity to see this first hand.

Thanks for the kind remarks, I really appreciate them. You and I are on the same wave length about incorporating ďBlacktron III". Iím presently working on a little scenario to premier next weekend at the show Iím doing down in St. Charles, Missouri. Iíll post pictures after the show.

Quoting Flare . ... how long did this take you overall?
I started the BIA back in 2004 as my part of a Moonbase collaborative with my local club, IndyLUG. It's gone over so well that I keep expanding it as time permits. This is about the seventh or eighth rebuild since 2004.

It's so big you can live in it. Blacktron is my second favourite theme in Lego space, I like futuron better. Otherwise it's ozzing awesome, you must have a lot of sets from the old blaktron 1 and 2, because some parts is not made anymore. I like the battleships you made in theme colors, from the original classic ship. How do you make the spiral rails in some of the domes? Thanks for posting and having a very understanding wife:-) Please check out my moc.

Quoting Mark Kelso It really adds to the sense of volume of the whole layout and balances nicely with those largest forms near the middle.
