6980-1 Galaxy Commander Mk III
Finally, LegoSpacy Inc. has unveiled its third iteration of their command ship line. It's production was rushed in order to meet and go ahead of their competitors, especially the Futuron Group of Companies. This business combine is a rapid rising star in the space shipping industry. LegoSpacy is anticipating the roll-out of Futuron's model.
About this creation

The LegoSpacy's prize innovation that enables their wing assemblies to move.

Interior of the mobile base. The metallic object seen are monopole magnets obtained from a classified test mission of the Mark III. Notice that the same improvement was made to the last half of the command ship's wings.

All the wings can be folded. Maximum upward angle of movement.

The central keel was reinforced to make the ship stronger structurally. Previous command ships point of weakness is in this area, especially in aging fleets. It literally locks as opposed to the slide and block assembly used in the Mark Is and IIs.

The holding clamps for the mobile base's posterior is much tighter but smoother. Notice the addition of twin thrusters in the clamp assembly. The thrusters itself are also redesigned, high boost for the short cylindrical nozzles and low to medium boost for the conical part.

All three components separated. Trademark of this model line.

Top view of component 2, notice the two auxiliary directional thrusters above the two main thrusters.

The commgear of the mobile base is upgraded.

Side view.

The thrusters of the first component are much more flushed out for maximum capacity.

Underside view.

Interior of the right pod. The controls can compete with Futuron's own.

Side view of pod interior.

Regular inspection and maintenance of ships is a much needed procedure to keep our ships working optimally.

Another shot of personnel busy working on the Mark III. The first component has a vic viper profile to it. Oh, those are Futuron personnel on a consultancy and test-driving joint business venture.

Still another shot.

Quoting Daz Hoo I like some of the ideas you put in there! I'm not to fond of those folding wings, but the rest are great improvements over the original set. Good job!
Thanks Mr. Daz! BTW, I'm planning to built Dune-related creations. The ornithopter seems like a good model to start.

Quoting Mister Bones I see you are relatively new to the pages, so welcome! First of all, love the classic design and build here. A tip, try to reduce the flash (or do not use it at all) as it white outs many of your shots. Time to go look at your other stuff!
Thanks Mister Bones! Yes , I'll try not to use the flash anymore as soon as I get a new memory card. The loss of the memory card the main reason I've been posting LDD creation lately.

Quoting David Calvet This is a nice variation on a very classic set (it was my preferred one as a child...). Unfortunately, the picture quality is not as good as the build ! Anyway, this MOC deserves more comments, you should join the Nostalgia Factory group and I'm sure you'll get more...
Thanks. Working to do something to the pic quality. Will try to join.
