Gothica Construction.
The constrution stages of the Gothica Battleship.
About this creation
I was just tidying up all the Gothica images here on MOC pages (they were a bit scrappy) and realized I hadn't posted these showing how the ship comes apart and goes back together for transport to events.

This is the front lower section with the main gun.

This is the rear landing struts.

They join together to make a strong tripod base for the ship that requires no other stand.

The front and centre sit on top.

Just balanced there at the moment.

The side landing pads attach.

The huge (too big for comfortable transport really) rear section snaps on.

Nose cones.

Left engine attached.

Both engines.

Final main ship with no smaller ships docked.

The Gothica is an old MOC from 2004/5. It's still intact as of January 2011 as I don't use old grey and old DK grey anymore!

Congratulations Gothica has been selected as a featured MOC on the X-tropia Lego Blog! I love how you designed the ship to be modular. What a great ship and clever use of roof elements as nose cones! See the posting here... http://danbrokamp.com/chicagobrickartist/?p=1382

Truly fantastic, this beast you've got there - great design, greebles etc. The color scheme is great aswell, same goes for the fantastic shape. Very nice work! I have a question here: any chance you're going to design sets for a possible new space theme within several years, probably? Your SP3 sets were great, and I'm wondering if you will continue the designing of space themed sets.

Ya know, I'm trying to make this Eye of Chaos SHIP of mine modular, and I definitely have a newly found appreciation for the additional work involved with designing a creation for transportation. I've always loved this ship, and the well thought out modularity makes it all the more impressive. Thanks so much for sharing these shots!

Whoa - that's a clever way to gain strength for such a large-scaled ship. I loved seeing what held that behemoth together.
