Pirates Remorse - FINAL
Time to hear: What lies in store for the pirates of this MOC? What is it they are remorseful about? This is build 2/3 for my MOCaversary in April. 1, 2 and 3 will combine to mark the end of my first year on the pages!
About this creation
Twas a fateful night long long ago, in a time of kings, castles and PIRATES! When the leader of the Pirate rebellion caught a glimpse of a treasure filled cave, the light from the setting sun gleaming off the gold - was all that was needed to capture Captain Rufnecks eye!

"A'Ho me hearties i've spotted a bountyfull cave of treasure!" And so the nightmare begins.

Sailing hard for the land, a taste of adventure in the air, the pirates sail her Fair Maiden towards her final fate. For no one knew what would hit them, no one knew, no one expected...

A wave as tall as a tree and as strong as an avalanche! Many of the crew were thrown off the ship as they lost footing from the increased acceleration. The masts snapped in half but were left hanging by the ropes. When the ship came to rest, it was broken in two, sitting on some rocks out of the sea.

Captain Ruffneck survived, but was it worth living? For months had passed and his crew were no more than skeletons strewn around the ill fated Fair Maiden. He had his cave and some belongings he salvaged - but mostly he had remorse. The people and adventure he lived for were gone - all for greed and an old pirates pride.

4th wall commentary: Many of you may notice the re-modelled front end of the ship - the old design ranked 99/100 on the hideometer scale. I've tried to get some good pics of the gold pieces under the water - but it was tough! The overall position of the back end also shifted to the left about 8 studs from WIP 2.

Please take the story line with a grain of salt(take it from the sea), I'm not known for great story telling... :D

I'd like to make a shout out to you, yes you. For all the support you've given me through the production of this MOC. The feedback has been brilliant and its fair to say many people have had a part in this getting to where it is.
A huge well done to Sebeus - seriously dude you should be a forensic investigator or something... Credit for the bamboo trees goes to Eggy. It was his MOC which first got me onto the pages last April - these trees featured on Estuary Stronghold and they have been in the back of my mind since.

This is build 2/3 for my 1st year MOCaversary in April. 1,2 and 3 will combine to mark the end of my first year on the pages! Thanks Everyone! ~Thoy

Ah right, well I was semi there. I have designed some fairly good minifig wings in LDD - made them for a white Angel statue on a castle I was building, I could suprise you yet. The really big event is still 3 months away :)

Quoting Oscar van der Beek so you are a kiwi, so where do you and Leda get the collectable minifigs? i've searched for months for them, but no show. did you get them off Trademe cause their really costy off there.
I get mine from ToyWorld, however if you don't live near a ToyWorld that would make it quite difficult. Bricklink is the only other option I could suggest, they are generally between $4-5NZD + Shipping. Have a browse man :)

Words can not describe how much detail this MOC. Even though it is a large MOC it probably has more detail than 3/4of the creations here on MOCpages. If I had to choose one person on MOCpages to be my favorite builder you would be that one. Now that's a MOC! Great job on the landscaping here and the amount of foliage in this is truly a delight to see. The destroyed ship adds sheer brilliance and a great amount of detail! The story was actually very good. I like the pirate's name. The water adds a very clean look to this and is masterfully done. Those rocks were a pleasure to look at with their amazing rock work and well placed greenery. Rickety bridge adds an awesome detail into this massive creation. Might I ask how you do it? Great job on the trees placed throughout and their location makes it even better and truly a master piece! I cannot believe the amount of blue trans. and large dark green leaves you have. There is probably nothing bad about this or any other Lego creation you've uploaded. I found the ancient pirate rather strange, but the skeletons were very cool. I'm gonna have to say those knights make it very awesome. I wish I could see it in person, any chance of you going to BrickCon? 5/5 smileys for you! Can't wait to see what's in store!

Quoting Tom Simon Boo! Boo! Where ARE the Sirens? Despite having given away many of the features in the WIPs, this is still a treat. Great job all around. I'm not understanding from your story how the old captain and the mermaid are getting along, though.
Yeah I did give many away, o'well. I have to admit confusion about the Siren thing. I thought a Siren was a Mermaid with feather wings, my brother said its another name for Mermaid. She really was placed there as an extra, not to do with the story. I've been wanting to build a ship wreck since I got the Imperial Flagship. After researching the pages I found only one person has had a decent attempt at a proper ship wreck, theirs was set underwater, so my wreck is kinda unique from what i've seen :)

Quoting W. Mark It looks like your ship is running with nothing but a skeleton crew. I can't wait to see what the rest of this year brings.
Haha at the joke, that was funny. Yes I have a few tricks and thoughts up my sleeves, a few wordplays for MOC names and such :) Cheers!

Boo! Boo! Where ARE the Sirens? Despite having given away many of the features in the WIPs, this is still a treat. Great job all around. I'm not understanding from your story how the old captain and the mermaid are getting along, though.

It looks like your ship is running with nothing but a skeleton crew. All joking aside, this is a great landscape, as your previous ones have been. There's great thought behind hiding coins under the water's surface, as well as your mermaid technique. You keep improving at an astonishing rate; I can't wait to see what the rest of this year brings.

This is so incredible! I love every aspect on this one - the wracked ship, the landscape and one of my favourites are the coins you integrated under the water surface! Simply great my friend!

Amazing! Your MOCs are inspirational! They make me want to build old structures and other thimgs from the past.

Nice work, although the stranded pirate should have still had his hat. A pirate is nothing without his hat. Other than that, brilliant work!

Absolutely superb. The coins under the water are just an example of the level of detail.

Okay, my raving comment appears to have dissapeared due to loading. So I'll say this-possibly the best MOC I've seen on MOCpages, discounting Containment and Logan's Run.

Great work, I love the gold laying in the water, hadn't seen that before, the ship is perfectly broken, I like how its contents got spilled over the beach and rocks. 'forensic investigator' :P I'll be building more pirate themed mocs in the near future (forbiddencove.com is hosting a contest) Mostly pirateships I'm working on, my efforts to combine a ship with a diorama have dramatically failed in the past, possibly because I rely too much on baseplates, anyway, fantastic job !
