Lego City Skyscraper: January 9, 2011
Dark ages seem to have ended for this MOCer. I have been building a bit the last few years, but I haven't posted anything in ages due to the move and starting grad school. My skyscraper had been in three moving boxes for the last three years, but interest in making a SWAT stop-animation has brought it back to life. New additions include a completely redesigned ground level, and an all new helicopter pad. The building is completely furnished inside.
About this creation
A picture with a street sweeper and minifig for size reference.

My updated combat helicopter. Only changes are colors, it's much more black and gray now than the original one. Probably won't post an updated MOC of it unless people request I do so.

It's a strain on the neck to look up at this giant!

View of the outside of the ground level. Structure on the left is outside of the elevator shaft.

Main entrance to the department store

Mannequins!

Crummy attempt at a jewelery display case, I hope to make a better one soon.

I'm still missing a door to the elevator on this level, I'll have to make one for the stop-animation soon.

Side entrance

Back room, currently underdeveloped.

A look down the elevator shaft from the roof. That's a long fall!

The elevator I designed for the building. The bumper tires are necessary to prevent jams when the elevator is moving between levels. The elevator can be raised and lowered by a motor-controlled winch.

Picture of the elevator in the elevator shaft on the top level. I still need to make an external door for it.

Some sneak peaks of the stop-animation I'm working on. It's a SWAT-style 4-8 minute short that will take place in and around the skyscraper. As of this posting I'm almost done with the screenplay for the stop-animation, I hope to start filming this week. Minifigs will be updated once I start filming, waiting on an order from minifig.cat to arrive!

Awesome little balcony on the second floor!

Here I have pictures of the new ground level and roof, but the other floors are the same from my last update in 2007. To see the other floors click here .

Amazing! It's really nice. I like the size and the helecopter pad was a really nice touch that I feel added a realistic touch to it. The elevator is also very nice and if you finish it, it will be amazing! I actually really like modular buildings like this and I only have one, but I like to try to make the inside of mine better (Mine is just a slightly modified Green Grocer so I wont but it up.)
