My project of the past weeks, something I'm very proud of, a life-sized ukulele made of Lego!
About this creation

After days of slaving away (and taking care of my new puppy) I've finally gotten around to posting this onto the 'pages. Without further ado, here is the ukulele.

I thought about adding four strings, the kind you get with grappling hooks and such, but I searched a little and just didn't have enough spools. So I guess my neck is naked :(

I began with a basic rainbow warrior inline of proportions and lengths, made with some plates, just to get the basic shape down, then I started building the frame around it.

After I finished the frame, I removed the inline and made a stronger, heftier black one that connected the sides and stuck the shape. Here's a shot of the insides, I didn't make two sides, mostly because I thought it would be cool to see the anatomy of it.

Here's a slightly over-exposed shot of the tuning pegs, which do actually turn on some wands/sticks, probably one of my favorite little details.

And what would this have been without the stand? Probably a small pile of broken ukulele pieces on the floor. Here's a shot of the back.

And the front.
This took me probably about two weeks to finish, working only maybe a few hours a day. I had a TON of trouble with connecting the front to the frame, mostly because the frame had it's own shape, and it didn't fit the studdy format of the face. Hope you had great holidays (I'm REALLY late for that) and a Happy New Year-Fourteen-Days-Ago!
Thanks for taking the time to check this out!

This is brilliant! I love the realistic design. The life-size scale puts it up there to a whole 'notha level. 5/5! ~stay green |

Nice work! I think the thing about this I like the most is the stand, actually... I didn't realize it was made out of LEGOs for the first few pictures, that's how cleanly-built it is. It really adds that extra something to this MOC. |
