"Can't we just talk about this for a minute!?"
"No more talk! No more second chances! What's happening is your fault, and now you're going to die for it!"
What'll you do now?
A: try to placate him/her/it and get an explanation?
B: try to ambush him/her/it when/if he/she/it tries to follow you?
C: withdraw to
I: map point A?
II: map point B?
III: map point C?
IV: map point D?
V: map point E?
(the above do not entail entering the rooms. They involve moving to the air vents that link those rooms to the ventilation system.)
E: go into a catatonic state of panic?

Bother, I thought I could bypass your stubborness. Guess i'll just have to wait a bit longer, then. :(
Well, it's not so much stubbornness as me not knowing myself. I've been making up the plot related things as we move along, because if I'd planned it out meticulously, half of it would never get seen. That particular fellow has been following for some time, and his hostile reaction was according to the Plan. Ask anyone, the most successful Plans are the ones that outline a general course of action, and have the minor details worked out as it moves along. People aren't predictable in groups smaller than a few thousand.

Did we do something wrong, what with the cutting torch and all?
All I can say to any speculation is "maybe". I've got a rather firm policy with regards to these things of revealing as little as I can. I can say this, though: there IS a reason, and there IS a plot behind this. It's not fully fleshed out yet, but it's there.

...if he does one of the C options, he is only putting off his inevitable destruction; if he does E (what happened to D, by the way?)...
Not necessarily; the vents are something of a maze. If you go one way and someone else goes the other, you can both end up in completely different ends of the ship. As for D; whoops.
Let's see. . .if he does A, he might get a better idea of what's going on; if he does B and fails, then he dies; if he does one of the C options, he is only putting off his inevitable destruction; if he does E (what happened to D, by the way?), he might be able to get some sympathy before he is killed. ::turns to the side and mutters with himself for a couple seconds:: After deliberation, I have reached the decision that A is the option that must be done. As amusing as B and E are, I think it's about time we knew more of what's been going on.
