Hi,
and thank You for commenting my AT-RT.
I really like the overall shaping of your version, it captures the Clone Wars Style very good!
As previously quoted it seems a little to big, but You already said You wanted to keep the playability, so this is an understandable step.
Nevertheless, i like this MOC :) |

Thanks, the goal obviously wasn't to have the most detailed accurate model, but to capture the true essence of the AT-RT without sacrificing playability.

Great AT-RT, one of the better designs I have seen in a while, although I think it needs some green. |

Nice! This is one of the better designs I've seen of this walker. I like the overall shape. Some suggestions: add green tiles to the front of the cockpit, find a way to attach radar dishes to the legs joints (check out my v2), use a motorcycle or speederbike seat for the cockpit so the rider can actually straddle the walker. Other than that, this is great!
It would certainly be easy to add some colored markings on the front. I've done it already, but for some reason I prefer the grey right now. I would like some sand-green markings, but I don't have the pieces. As for the rest, I doubt I could make it work. Do they even make a motorcycle frame in Light Bluish-Grey? |

Cool, but a lttle off-scale. Just saying :)
Take a look at the reference picks I added, and then tell me if you really think there is a serious scale problem :o) |

Cool, but a lttle off-scale. Just saying :)
My thought on scale is basically this: a minifig is not a scaled down person, the proportions are all wrong (big head, stubby legs, chubby torso, etc...) so being a stickler for precise scale is not a good idea. Thus I simply use the "it should look right" approach. The official AT-RT model is clearly way too big. A slightly smaller AT-RT than mine would match the body height better, but this one matches the head size pretty well. In the end, it's not a scale model, just a lego minifig toy. It definitely feels like a good size when you re-inact the battles from Liberty on Ryloth! (I will post pics of our blue/grey CIS MTT soon) |

I bet that could make it as a little 9.99 USD set if it had a droid or 2. I don't have any ARF Troopers right now but I'll be sure to get some now!
That's about what they cost per each in parts on bricklink. This couldn't be an official set, though, because it's a bit too fragile. It IS playable, but you have to learn how to handle it, or else pieces tend to fall off (mainly the saddlebags, the holder for the hand-blaster, and the 2x2 dishes where the legs attach) |
