Here is another MOC based on the play I wrote, "Serúcipe and the Lost Crystal." In the story, three friends set out from their hometown, Emor Namor, to search for a crystal with magical powers that was stolen from its shrine in the city. This MOC is the shrine, the Shrine of Candere, in which the Crystal of Candere rests. This is probably my biggest MOC to date, and it commemorates my being on MOCpages for an entire year.
About this creation
Today (January 27, 2011) marks my one-year anniversary on MOCpages!
In order to celebrate this momentous occasion, I decided to build an exceptionally large and wondrous MOC, called "The Shrine of Candere"
I don't think there is any point in boring you with any more plain, pointless rambling, so I'll move on to pointless rambling with pictures!
Since the main photo shows the entire shrine from the front, here I'll skip right down to the side. The entire building is made up of almost 100% clear/transparent/translucent elements that I've collected over the years. I wonder if anyone else has ever done this? Anyway, you can see that all around the shrine is the natural plant life indigenous to Kéerg Nital (the planet my play takes place on). For some reason I forgot to add purple plants (which are prevalent on the planet).
The back! I focused a bit too much on the front and sides, and not enough here. Oh well, it still looks cool to me.
Here we take a look inside the shrine and see Serúcipe, Eltötsira, Neläg, and Mayor Adipis (the mayor of Emor Namor) staring in awe at the Crystal of Candere (the purple thing in the middle), which has the power to control Kéerg Nital's sun, Infernus. Notice the beautiful pillars of different colors! I really like them. Off to the side near Serúcipe you can see part of a guard who helps keep the Crystal safe from crystal-nappers. Since the Crystal has all the powers of the Sun, its energy core gives off natural light, but the diamond-like outer shell (the purple part you see) prevents the harmful energy rays (x-rays, ultraviolet rays, etc.) from escaping (unless someone in possession of the Crystal wills it to zap people).
Here is a better picture of the inside and the pillars and the guard. Muy bonita, ¿sí?
This is the entrance of the shrine, guarded by a... cyborg? Anyway, the gate cannot be opened by anyone who does not have a secret code that is input into the console behind the guard.
The guard opens the doors and now anyone can enter!
Here is a detailed picture of the flora to the right of the entrance. The red thing with the green dome over it is the power generator for the entrance doors. I have no idea what the pyramid-shaped thing is for.
Here is more of the plant life, located to the left of the entrance. Notice the various chrome elements.
Here is the detailed roof of the shrine. I'm not really sure why I added the anti-aircraft missile on the right.
Finally, the Shrine of Candere at night. I already stated that the Crystal of Candere gives off light, and here's yer proof! This is my favorite picture.
Thanks for looking! Ratings and comments will not go unappreciated!
