Sometimes the light needs the dark...
About this creation
...as a balance must be made.

For years the Toa have been considered the guardians of justice and the Matoran. There are selfless heroes who do good for no other reason than to uphold the virtues of unity, duty and destiny. Their courageous acts have been recorded on the walls of history. They are and always will be the true heroes of light.

But there is a darker side to heroism. Deep within the shadows of darkness sits another organization for good, one with a more sinister approach to fighting for the light. This group is known only as the Partisan. Unlike the Toa, who hold the virtues of unity, duty, and destiny as ideals that must be upheld, the Partisan order believes those things to be more than ideals. They are not just simple ideas, they are an energy force that has a constant flow and all beings affect this flow whether it be positively or negatively. The Partisan call this energy The Chart. To a Partisan there is no good or evil, for they are but simple names, there is only The Chart. Anything that negatively affects The Chart must be destroyed while anything that positively affects The Chart must be protected at all costs. The Partisan order think of itself as neutral in The Chart. The members neither add nor decrease from it. They believe themselves to be the ultimate champions for justice as they have no other purpose in life but to protect the balance of this energy source they are so certain exists.

Sitting at the top of the Partisan order is a being know as Regilus. No one else within the order has kept the balance of The Chart from being thrown off kilter as many times as Regilus. He is revered within the order for his skill and is the role model for all new members. Stories of his exploits have reached just about everyone in the Partisan.

While others take their duties in the Partisan as a higher calling, Regilus sees it more as a job no one else wants, for few beings would readily commit the acts that he is required to perform daily. Regilus also has a sense of humor and is exclusively the only one within the Partisan who does. The reason this may be is because not many have seen the horrors that Regilus has seen so it is his way of dealing with the mental and psychical strain that torments him. He also shows a very rare sense of mercy for a hunter. He has even been known to allow his target to say goodbye to his or her friends. The leaders of the Partisan look down on this, but Regilus responds with, “If the time comes when my targets escape me or I miss my shot…that is when you can be concerned for my strength of mercy.”

What race Regilus hails from is unknown. Some say he comes from a race that lives at the far reaches of the imagination. A place filled with horrors that a Makuta couldn’t dream of. Others say he is a failed experiment. Some believe him to have once been a Matoran who was mutated and deformed. A few of the more superstitious believers call him a gift from the great beings. And there are those who say Regilus is a Toa that walked so far from the path of light that he is no longer recognizable as a hero. Whatever he is Regilus himself will not say.

Regilus has no powers of his own, although he does tend to perform physical feats that only a Toa wearing a Kanohi Calix could do. In addition to that, he carries a pair of pistols and is an excellent shot with them. So excellent, in fact, that a few have said it’s probably a good thing that he lacks any natural powers. Finally, he wears very thick armor. This armor, wherever it came from, is astoundingly light and silent. This allows Regilus to perform well in stealth missions and stay heavily armored at the same time.

Overall, this is my favorite MoC I've ever made. I love the color scheme, I love the build, I love the weapons, I just love everything.

Thanks for taking a look at this! :D

Quoting Gringat the Repugnant This sounds like something Lord Nivorn would be involved in - The Chart wasn't inspired a bit by The Weave was it? I mean, the lords operate in a similar manner. Can I make this canon to my storyline and have Nivorn one of their allies? Would be sweet. And Regilus looks and sounds better than most of the stuff even Farshtey comes up with.
It was not inspired by anything as I came up with it on the spot. It doesn't surprise me that they are alike, though. And yes I would be fine if you used Regilus in you canon as long as you credit me and link back to this page anywhere you use him.

Wow, that's a great story! That whole idea of the Chart and Regilus is pretty beast, and the build isn't shabby, niether. Great job!
