Finally, after 13 months of building she has been finished. She has a full interior, measures 105cm in length and 76cm in height and contains about 5200 Lego pieces. To make her rigging and her 32 sails, 220m of string and1,5 m2 of linen were consumed. I would like to credit Captain Greenhair, Admiral Croissant, Captain Blackmoor and Admiral Bejaune for their techniques (esspecially CGH!), inspiration and valuable assistance on MSN.

Partly because of this posting, I find that you seem to be an expert at building historically accurate ships and I think that you would be a true source of inspiration and a valuable giver of advice to future shipbuilders, so I have taken the liberty to invite you to my new group “Ship Builders guide”. |

I had no idea you were on MocPages too, I'm glad you are! Your ships are amazing and recently I realized why your "name" is Perfectionist, because you work every historical detail of your MOCs :D Great job! |

This ship is so thought through. My personal favourite legowise is your bow design with the tubes and hands. My favourite presentationwise is the last shot. |

Could anybody help me out with my own frigate I'm building? I can't put proper prices on a creation to save my life, write back quick! Once again, awesome job on the Achille! |

the thing I really like is that you made it a nice streamlined hull design, most lego boats don't have that. I have always wanted to build one but I dont have the right pieces OR enough spare time, you are obviosly a different story, thanks again, if you ever do come with instructions, I want to know RIGHT AWAY!!!!! :)

Well, I knew that you made it, I was just thinking it would be a good idea to create some |

There are no instructions. It took me more than a year to make her, so it should be quite obvious. ;) |

Wow, I see why you call yourself the Perfectionist. The detail ist beautiful, und some of the pieces are either so new or so old I don't recognize them, or I'd have to say you handcrafted them yourself. What are the curved pieces at the bow, by the bowsprit? I've never seen 'em b4.
Well, I'm glad you like it, but I didn't really use custom or third party items; except for the rigging. The headrails you're talking about are made from 3mm hose, which has been bent, and minifigure hands. To be honest that way of building does damage the hose, but it's all real Lego nonetheless! |

Brilliant detail. It looks very accurate. I like how've made the sides of the ship curve inwards. The capstan and steering wheel look neat, and the galley looks extremely realistic. Great Job! |

whew, ok, It's just that there aren't a lot of ship builders bothering about the galley so I'm not used seeing them :P, in fact this is the first ship I see having one, so good job again |

This may be a silly question... what is the black machine like thing on the gun deck which has something like a periscope popping out on the top deck ? (my first thought was some kind of kitchen platform)
It's supposed to be the galley, indeed the equivalent to a kitchen. The "periscope" is meant to be a smoke pipe, so that the air below deck remains bearable. |

That rigging is simply amazing! The effort you have put in to making this ship look beast! Great Build! I bet you are another person who would like to see TLG bring out a 24wide hull. ~Thoy
Thanks. Well I can live with 16 studs prefabs as of now although I see it as a bit too small. On the other hand it's always possible to go for a brickbuild hull when going for a bigger size. |

This is amazing and makes the Imperial Flagship look a tad lame. Going by your pics this old girl looks massive. Imagine the comparative size of a first rate ship of the line! Beautiful work!! |
