First blood! And stomping noises, more jetpacking and a fair bit of really fast repositioning.
About this creation
The un-named Klonei homeword, in the periphery system "Vult", 23rd of May, 2716: two weeks after planetfall.
Location: the foothills of Mount Fed, 16 kilometres from Clonetard City.

This first image is where we were at the conclusion of the last turn.

Did I say they'd come to a halt? Looks like I was wrong.

So what's going on? Well, first, we've got the two vehicles from the 217th heading Southeast to get a piece of the action, and we've got the Caracal SE and Specter headed North. On the side of the Marauders, we've got their infantry jetting north (probably to avoid that menacing looking scout car), the Wraith also heading North (quite quickly, too), one of the Banshees heading West, and... what's that other Banshee doing, anyway?

Drawing a bead, it looks like. First blood! A Moffatt's Marauders Banshee D class mecha touches off its cannons; one volley goes wide, but the second stitches a ragged line up the left torso of a House Hood Caracal, blasting off about a third of the armour in that location.
In other news, the Malefactor also gets into the movement game.
Its counterpart on the opposite side doesn't do anything, though. One might almost think he's sizing up the competition. Unless the competition resizes him into tiny chunks with its lasers and missiles, of course.

Up in his Malefactor, less than two metres from a metric tonne of rocket fuel and high explosives, Marauder pilot Petrov "Deus" Inviere dunks what's left of his potato croissant in the local equivelant of Coca-Cola and has a taste. Then he flicks it on the cockpit floor, having decided that some things just weren't made to go together.

Well, here we have it. The Wraith's coming to a screeching halt, the Caracal SE seems to have claimed the high ground and the Specter has trotted sideways a bit.

Who has line of sight to whom:
Invaders:
Finn, you have full line of sight to Gondabuggan's Banshee D2 and partial line of sight to Bob's Wraith, but the range is too great to either of them to use your missiles.
You'd need an 11 to hit Gondabuggan and an 11 to hit Bob.
Jake, you have partial line of sight to Bob, full line of sight to Gondabuggan and partial line of sight to Deus's Malefactor.
You'd need an 11 to hit Bob, a 9 to hit Gondabuggan and a 10 to hit Deus.
Tyler, you have full line of sight to the Marauder infantry. You'd need a 12 to hit them, though, which is highly unlikely. In effect, you'd be wasting ammo.
Marauders:
Gondabuggan, you'd need a 9 to hit Jake's Caracal, a 12 to hit Finn's Caracal SE and a 9 to hit Dominick's Specter.
MC, you have full line of sight to Zach's Cheetah.
It's a 10 to hit him.
Deus, you have partial line of sight to Awe's Caracal and full line of sight to Zach's Cheetah. It's a 9 to hit Awe with your large lasers, an 8 to hit him with your missiles, and a 9 to hit Zach with your lasers or missiles.
Everyone else: you're either out of range or you can't see anyone.

And it'd be preferable if you wouldn't neglect to send in your order forms to areetsa@gmail.com.
Okay, you've got most of the week. Next phototaking will be on Friday or Saturday, depending on events.
And Awe: you should probably get some movement in the bank. All it'd take for Deus to negate your partial cover advantage would be for him to climb on that hill right in front of him. Similar news for you, Jake. You're a sitting duck. Bill London: you too should see about doing something. Not so much because you're at risk of being plinked, but because you haven't sent in any order forms lately, or provided a reason why you can't take the time to check in once a week or so.

Those people on that radar tower?
Yup, and in clone suits too. Of course, we all know how (in)effective clone armour is against anything bigger than a water pistol. |

Wouldn't it be first strike? If it was infantry getting hit then I guess it would be first blood. |

Kill zach cheetah, and may i ask WHY aren't you responding to ANY of my moves so far?
I think there might be something wrong with the Gmail thing. You may want to try just posting the forms in the General Conversation topic instead, it might be a bit more reliable. I know someone else was having trouble with his emails not arriving.

Excellent. When do I get to do some action? :D
Next Friday/Saturday, presumably. You just have to fill out one of the order forms; they should be in one of the subgroup threads. I can't quite remember which one right at the moment, but it's probably named something like "Orders".

This seem to be goin good, one question, can i move, then fire or only one at a time?
You can easily do both, although I want to mention this: normally in Battletech, there's "Phases" in a turn; so, first, both sides take turns to move their units one at a time. Then, they do their shooting. Wash, rinse, repeat. That wouldn't work over the internet, so what I've got is this: people do their shooting, and then they move. Think of the shooting as a delayed part of the previous turn, if you want. Movement also affects accuracy; the faster you move, the more your aim is off. So if you want to be as accurate as possible, you'll want to sit still for a turn before you do your attacking. |
