"A dozen Covenant superior battleships against a single Halcyon-class Cruiser. Given those odds, I'm content with three ... make that four kills." -Cortana, Halo: Combat Evolved
About this creation
Okay, so they aren't a dozen superior Covenant battleships, but they'll have to do. The 47th Imperial Armada is a small fleet assigned to the defense of the Phoenix-Theta system.

The whole of the mobile fleet. It consists of eight hyperspace-capable ships.

The smallest ships: a NEOS light carrier and three heavy Mk.II corvettes.

While not suited for battle, the NEOS 'Orca' fuel tanker is equipped with heavy shields and a light pulse laser turret to discourage the curious from following.

The engines are large and efficient, but the 'Orca' has a relatively small range, as the main fuel tanks are not accessible to power the engines.

The NEOS 'Rampage' class destroyer is among the most powerful ships for its size. Equipped with six pulse laser turrets, eight heavy magnetic accelerator cannons, three heavy plasma turrets, and one medium twin plasma turret.

The bridge, which has the luxury of having large windows due to the protection of so many MACs.

Three pulse laser turrets and the medium twin plasma turret are located on the top of the vessel and are useful for taking care of pesky fighters and frigates.

Maneuvering thrusters behind the heavy plasma turrets make this one of the more versatile ships of its tonnage.

Main engines. I really like how they turned out.

The NEOS 'Mako', a well-rounded cruiser that is useful in many situations.

The bridge, while not as well-protected as the bridge of the 'Rampage', is still one of the largest in the fleet.

Comms n' stuff.

The hangar is medium in size, but very well protected. Two pulse lasers on either side, a heavy plasma turret on either side, and four forward, high-velocity plasma cannons protect the smaller craft from harm.

Boom boom!

I'm also extremely pleased with the engine design on this one.

The NEOS 'Serengeti' battle cruiser, pride of the 47th.

The bridge, forward MAC, and a medium pulse laser turret.

3 medium and 3 heavy plasma batteries, and a medium plasma turret on either side of the ship's midsection give the area the nickname of "the gauntlet". Working there is fun.

The observation tower, communications arrays, and medium plasma turrets form the aft section of the ship.

Two heavy twin plasma turrets take up the rear.

Hangar A is defended by "the gauntlet" in front and a heavy plasma turret below and behind.

Hangar B is less defended, but isn't as open as hangar A.

Engines. Actually, it's kind of one big engine.

The non-mobile portion of the 47th Imperial Armada, consisting of 2 'Ballista' superheavy orbital MAC stations, one 'Trebuchet' ultraheavy orbital MAC station, and a 'Kracken' repair/refueling station.

The 'Kracken' encloses a ship in its arms, and repairs it with the smaller arms, while refueling it from the large tank on its rear.

Imagine looking up through a telescope and seeing this. That would make my day.

All the MAC stations.

'Ballista' superheavy MAC stations are capable of taking down most ships in a single blast, but they require a constant supply of ammunition from their local planet. The station is mostly storage for ammunition, maneuvering and anti-recoil thrusters, and the MAC barrel. Most of the power is gathered by the enormous solar panels and stored in power cells. A small reactor can be used as backup for firing rounds in fast succession or if the planet's shadow blocks out the sun for too long.

The 'Trebuchet' ultraheavy MAC station is capable of firing thousand-ton slugs or other warheads across the system in seconds. Not bad, if you ask me.

Well, there you have it. I was originally going to build a shipyard for these, but the ships are much more fun to build than a planet's surface. Maybe next time around I'll put them in some actual environment. Thanks for viewing, let me know what you think!

I thought NEOS ships used a form of teleportation not hyperspace (it seemed a bit Star Warsish), but anyway good ship design! I like the guns on all the bigger ships! |

interesting little designs. The ships are very different to those of other factions what makes it easy to identify them as NEOS |

How did you get the turrets on the side of the destroyer to stay attached?
Those 1x2 bricks with the technic holes in the middle. |

I'm impressed with all of this, the parts use is very well done, the consistent theme and colour scheme really sells "fleet".
Only ones I'd change are the corvettes. The gold main body seems too organic compared to the other designs.
Other than that, it's perfect. |
