A space-capable AEGAKS designed for swarm tactics. Wisps are small, agile, easily and cheaply produced. This is my addition to the Project AEGAKS: Evolution Arc.
About this creation

The Wisp is powered by three primary engines, as well as numerous small manuevering thrusters and gyro stabilizers, which allow it to move very nimbly in the void of space. Two primary generators, mounted on either side of the powercell, provide the necesary energy for thrust, and radiate heat away from the generators and powercell themselves.

The "leg" units and the arm cannons are all motion independent, meaning that each is able to move on its own, though field of motion is drastically reduced in favor of heavier armor. When not in use, or when traveling at top speed, the Engines fold close to the main body, increasing its foreward acceleration, while decreasing its manueverability. When folded up in speed mode, the Wisp acts more like a starfighter than a mecha.

There is a main engine in each "Leg" and one mounted into the back. This configuration provides the most balanced and versatile manueverability for the Wisp. Here we can see the radiator units in operation, venting heat from the generators.

As well all AEGAKS, the pilot block is ejectable, as is the powercell. The frame was initial a enlarged version of the antiqued, yet serviceable L Frame, and the researchers worked from there. One major change, however. There is no transpara-alloy window for the pilot to see through, and no head unit with with to see. Instead, all visual data is received through the multidirectional camera unit that is mounted into the top of the Pilot Block.

The pilot seen here, Scion, has to wear a pressurized flight suit in order to protect himself in the event of a breach in the Pilot Block.

A side by side comparison with one of the Original Six Arkham Prototypes, the one that was left in its default build. The Wisp looks very small comparatively when set in speed mode.

Another side by side with the Wisp folded out in combat mode. Looks a little bigger, but still a small target to hit.
CREATOR'S NOTES:

A sad thing happened today. I dismantled the Spectre, the first Mecha MOC I ever built. I dropped it and it shattered, and I decided it would be better to comemorate it rather than rebuild it. So I used its parts to build the Wisp.
And yes, the researchers were very cheap on this project. They decided that the lowest budget possible was the best option for mass production. Think of the Wisp as the AEGAKS equivilent of the Star Wars TIE fighter.

marvellous concept. love the simplicity of the look, which appears to hide a quite ingenious build.
Sometimes, simplicity is just a facade. Thanks for the feedback! |

The VTOL is really sweet, weird at the same time, but in a good way! LOL at your new user name
It's a long story. A very long story. I like the wierdness, and I'm glad you do too. I was going for something off center and this was it. |

R-Type is one of those old 2D space shooters like "Defender" or "Space Invaders." This reminded me of the main ship on the cover of the box. By the way "Rabid Goldfish?" So you decided to take the of your old MOC huh. Okay.
Yeah, well, actaully RabidGoldfish is my gamer tag and and Goldfish is an old nickname of mine. As for the fighter, yeah, i guess it does look like them. Thank you for pointing it out. ^Blub^ |

An interesting deviation from your standard design. Kind of reminds me of R-Type while it's in fighter mode. As for Spectre, all I can say is "...all we are is dust in the wind..." because even MOC's can't live forever.
I'm not familiar with the R-Type. Could you please elaborate? |

Nice, I like the idea for the enclosed pod with the camera on top, and the overall design of Mecha-Fighter Hybrid is pretty unique. 5/5! |

R.I.P Spectre, you've fought bravely. About the Wisp, it's a very nice build, a unique shape and canopy, looks like a small tank, yet a fighter. Good job! |

Very cool, I love how you made it not quite mecha, not quite fighter.
Yeah, just an idea I was toying with. Once I can afford more parts I may make a more fleshed out version. |
