My creations based upon the books "Leviathan" and "Behemoth" by Scott Westerfeld.
About this creation
Victory! For the last few months, my goal has been to make many creations based on drawings by Keith Thompson.(http://keiththompsonart.com/)These drawings are in the books "Leviathan and "Behemoth" by Scott Westerfeld. Please enjoy these creations. They will be at Brickworld. I hope to meet everyone who is going there.

Here is the pic that I based muy Austria-Hungarian Stormwalker from. As you can see, mine has a little too large of a cannon port, and is overall too large. Creative license! It looks unstable in the main pic, but the leg was just a little too splayed. It is alot more stable than it looks.

The crew. In front is Alek, heir to the Holy Roman Empire. To his right is the wildcount, Volger. He is the fencing teacher. To Alek’s left is Otto Klopp, master mechanic. To Otto’s left and right are Bauer and Hoffman, Austrian soldier and engineer.

This is the reference picture for the ottoman Scorpion Walker. In "Behemoth," this is used to capture a british patrol team. My version is very studly. This was partly because I wanted to make it look riveted, and partly because I have few grey tiles. The pilot does not have lower legs. Hee hee.

The German biplane! These things attack the Leviathan. it was really fun to make. Again, this picture is taken from my book because I could not find it online. I think that this plane is probably the most reasonable thing in the book. It could probably exist.

Here is my reference picture of the german scouting mech. they use the mortar to fire phosphorus lumps at the Stormwalker to track it. I did not make this design! It comes from this guy.http://www.flickr.com/photos/um-bop/4764484185/in/faves-deathlyhalliwell/
These were fun to make. Enjoy!

Here is a picture of the Cavalry that assault the Stormwalker. I could not find this pic online, so this is a photograph of my book. Sorry for the bad quality.

A Huxley! These vertical ascenders are used on scouting missions by the Darwinists. Darwinists splice genes to create different organisms. Huxley's are part jellyfish, and many other things. I am sorry about the ugly stand, but this was really hard to position. It is pretty fragile.

Midshipmen Dylan Sharp and Newkirk. Dylan is actually named Deryn, and is a girl pretending to be a boy in the British navy. At the start of the book, "Leviathan," she goes on a wild Huxley ride.

Here is the picture of the Tesla coil. it is used to shoot electricity at the Darwinist Airhip Leviathan. Mine is a little underscale, but the picture was hard to work from.

Here are my Tesla engineers. They are made from the brilliant Alex Mac's design.

Why cant I see any of the pictures? All I see are question marks.
There was a big server crash a while back, and many pictures were lost. I didn't still have these, so question marks it is. Sorry! |

AWESOME!!! I love those books by Scott Westerfield. Could you make those robotic elephants from 'Behemoth'? Please?
Maybe sometime, but i have a lot of other projects that are really on the forefront right now. Sorry. |

Cool builds, Dude! That Tesla guy sure came up with some nifty stuff. That first mech is just MASSIVE!
Yes it is. I have had to superglue the toes to make them support its weight. |

Wow! I'm really not sure if I can top any of these! The Huxley's tentacles are just perfect, and the Tesla cannon is unbelievably accurate. If I HAD added taken pictures of the ladder that attached to my Sotmrwalker, you would be surprised to know that your design was EXACTLY the one I had built as well.
Yeah, I read your description and had to try it. So, it is actually your design. Sorry for the lack of credit. |

These are all good-looking builds, but the Leviathan and Behemoth seem to be severly lacking in any detail. They have large sections that are nothing but plain grey bricks. The overall design and basis is great, though.
What do you mean by "The behemoth?" |

Bravo!! What a presentation! It's like the finale of a fireworks show, every one you think it's going to end, then another one goes off that better than the one before! Really spectacular work here. |

WOW! There's way too much coolness to comment on here! I like the steampunky influence of the drawings and the builds. I'd have to say my favorites are the balloon and the scorpion (with beefier legs, of course). Remember, when it comes to walkers, hinge plates/bricks are your friend! |

Wow.Absolutely beautiful. All of it. Where did this all come from? A book? And i also really love the rope ladder design on the first one!
EDIT: Ah, never mind. I shall have to find these books. Are they good books?
They are quite good books. I really enjoy them. |

Wow, dude, you aren't messing around! It would've been fun to see any one of these creations, but as a set it's just dynamite! I think the scorpion is my favorite in design. I'll throw a few thoughts your way over in the advice group on this, but meanwhile, EXCELLENT work!!! |

Wow Tyler! You've really come a long way my friend. Great work on all of them! The only advice I could give is to maybe beef up the legs a bit on the second one. Not too much mind you, I saw the reference pic, but they need just a little... something. Overall very nice and I can't wait to see them at Brickworld! See ya there! ~ Chris.
Thanks! The scorpion is definitely the weak link, due to the fact that it cannot stand on its own as well. I will get to work on those legs. Thanks for the advice. |
