About this creation
An authentic-to-scale replica of Star Trek’s most elegant yet feared battle-cruiser-class starship, the Klingon Bird-of-Prey.

Model dimensions (approx.): 10” L x 11.5” W x 7” H. The model's wings are moveable to the upward, neutral or downward positions. The model can be equipped with landing gear (as shown), mounted on a stand, or suspended in mid-air with invisible line.

The Bird-of-Prey is aptly named due to the bird-like shape of its wings and hull, and its ability to cloak (i.e., turn virtually invisible), hunt-down and destroy vessels. It has a length of 110 metres, carries a crew of 12 to 36 men, and travels at a maximum speed of warp 9+. Its armament consists of one photon torpedo launcher and 2 disruptor canons. Its defenses consist of deflector shields and a cloaking device that renders the ship virtually invisible until it powers-up its weapons to attack (albeit there is a modified experimental variant that can fire its weapons while remaining under cloak). The ship’s wings move in an upward position (for takeoff and landing), a neutral position (for normal flight), and the classic downward position for purposes of attack. The ship is equipped with a periscope to enable the captain to personally target an enemy ship's weapons systems or engines.

The photos depict the following:
> Wings in the upward position for take-offs/landings. Notice the menacing disruptor
canons (at the end of each wing) and the photon torpedo launcher (located in the
ventral bridge section).
> Wings in the classic downward position ready to attack.
> Wings in the neutral position for cruising.
> Below the warp engine, you can just make out the fully retractable entry/exit ramp.

Quoting Marty Fields Like the modifications! Even more "realism" could be added using trans-red bricks for the engines or even light bricks. Flexible hose could easily be mounted on the command module to represent the cloaking device field generator coil. Yes, I am a Treker!
Special thanks to Marty Fields for his advice to make modifications to the cloaking device field generator coil and engines!

Thanks for the comments everyone! I've recently completed some modifications so that the wings will also raise for landing; landing gear (option); and retractable entry platform. I'll post some pics soon! Also, check-out my mini BOP version (pics forthcoming)...

Hi. The hatch I am talkig about is the one used in Star Trek IV to allow the cast to escape after ditching the B-of-P in San Francisco Bay. It is a round hatch on the starboard side of the upper part of the bridge module. It was only seen in this movie and does not seem to appear again!
