AEGAKS-APB 01 R-Gr 'Kutori'
The production model R-Frame. Equipped with the Byakou Coordinator System.
About this creation
AEGAKS-APB 01 R-Gr 'Kago-no-Kutori'

This is the first production model R-Frame, codenamed ‘Kago-no Kutori,’ or just Kutori for convenience’s sake. This particular unit is a Coordinator Custom unit, which means that it is equipped with enhanced sensory systems. Kutori units feature heavier armor, and Coordinator types utilize the same type of legs found on the D-Frames.

Here you can see the twin under slung semi-automatic guns, copied from the R-Frame prototype, ‘Arthas’. Like nearly all projectile weapons built by Schrado Industries, they utilize the VAT (Variable Ammunition Types) System, with the ammo stored in the forearms.

This Kutori unit’s hands look rather skeletal because it was hurriedly assembled to aid with interior defense in the middle of a surprise attack. The pilot decided she liked the looks of them, so when the Kutori was completed the hands were left as is. (Creator’s Note: Actually, I ran out of robot arms.)

Kutori reaching for one of its anti-armor blades. The design is based on the Amaterasu Kai’s throwing blades, but these weapons are designed for heavier combat despite their ornamental design. A favorite tactic of Kuotri pilots is to use ammunition designed to freeze its targets, before rapidly closing in to melee range.

A shot of Kutori showing off its blades. As mentioned above, this Kutori unit is a Coordinator type and it is equipped with the Byakou system. (lit. All-Seeing) This system allows Coordinator units to take in more battlefield data, providing valuable information and support to other units, in essence it is a highly modified scanning system. Coordinator units are typically small, fast, and agile, relying on other units in its squad for support. The green antennas on the shoulders are modified comm arrays, able to punch through all but the heaviest interference.

A kinda washed out shot of Kutori’s back. Not much to see here, since Kutori is basically a heavier Arthas. You can clearly see the D-Frame style legs, though it retains the racer style feet.

Kutori’s pilot block and power cell ejected. Kutori’s power cell is only about a fifth smaller than a D-Frame, giving this small frame nearly the same power output. However, the lack of the SHINIGAMI System due to size constraints makes it a tricky unit to pilot for someone used to the safety net the System provides.

A shot of Kutori’s pilot block. It looks slightly larger than a standard APB, but that is explained by the Byakou System, which is stored in the pilot block just behind the pilot’s head.

This is Sheena O’Malley, Pilot of Kutori CT. (Coordinator Type). Sheena is one of the older members of the Squad, being in her mid thirties. Before receiving the Kutori CT, Sheena piloted a Swordsman type M-Frame with a custom red paint job. While piloting that unit, she earned the moniker; ‘The Scarlet Death’. There doesn’t appear to be a specific reason that Sheena does what she does, but she seems to enjoy needless destruction. Her posting as the pilot of Kutori CT was probably a measure to limit the devastation she could cause. Despite this, Sheena is still a force to be reckoned with, especially with the Byakou System.

Creator’s Notes

Well, I should’ve written this description weeks ago. I’m not really a big fan of Kutori, it was really built because I wanted to build another R-Frame. The name means something like 'caged bird', and it was given to this unit because my kid sister suggested it. Kutori didn't stay on the shelf long, since I needed the joints. I'd say it only lasted about two weeks. In other news, Project 'Tenshi' is nearly complete. Not much else to say here really, except credit for the inspiration behind the feet, frame, head, and pilot block goes to Jason Dominguez.

Hey Man, so how's revamping your style coming along? Haven't seen anything from you in a while, then again, I'm one to talk, I just got around to posting a MOC page on my new account and it was a reposting of the Urocyon, though I did add a lot of new content. Hope you're making progress on the matter, let me know when you build something new and post it.

Interesting back story to this unit and the design woks quite well for a simpler model. Too bad this one's already history. You could of posted some pics of this one having a glorious death in battle with a spectacular crash scene to top it off. Just a thought. I'd love to do that myself but my dioramas never look right enough for posting.
