Bat Commander
The Bat Commander is a devastating medium battle ship that may split up into 4 ships. There is no escape from the Bat Commander
About this creation
I hate it when you spent an hour putting your Moc in the internet and then before it goes online all gone. Well here is my scond and last try.

The Bat Commander is a modular spaceship I have built around 8 years ago, when the star wars sets came out. Now after streamlining it a bit I put it in the MOCpages. It is a ship that can split up into 4 different spacecrafts enabling reassembly in different ways. The total length is about 72 studs.

Enjoy,
Giorgio

Here is the complete assembly of the Bat Commander

Compare with the previous pic. The B-Bomber is now in the back, the B-Fighter in front. The B stands for Bat

How is it possible? The Bat Commander consists of 4 individual spaceships. From left to right: The B-Bomber, the Avenger, the B-Fighter and the Reco in front

A pic of the B-Bomber. I was inspired by the gliders on Hoth in Star Wars V, although the B-Bomber is a bit bigger

This is a pic from my favorite angle. The hatch in the back of the windscreen opens up

Here is the B-Fighter from the front. Like the B-Bomber, it may hold one pilot and one gunner in the back

It also carries a R2 unit

Here you see how the crew is positioned

Note the Reco is a small glider for reconnaissance missions but may also engage into battle

The wings of the Reco move down...

... and up, changing its looks

The gunner sits in the back of the Reco

This is the heart of the Bat Commander, the Avenger

It takes 1 pilot and two gunners, one on each wing. With the magnet holders in the bottom...

... the Reco may attach to the Avenger

The 3 magnets fix the Reco quite tight. No falling off when flying through the room :-)

Did I mention the Avenger has a light system? Well it does, one inside the cockpit and two red ones on top

The Bat Commander showing the assembly with the B-Fighter

Here you can catch a glimpse of the Reco underneath

Assembling the B-Bomber in front of the Avenger is my favorite

By the way you need 1 or 2 seconds to unite one model to the other. Eather through magnets or by use of several technic pins

I like this angle very much

Of course the B-Bomber and the B-Fighter may also be attached to each other. Personally I do not like to do that, but there is the possibility.

Take one Hoth speeder, three x-wing fighters, and a tie interceptor and mix them together. A clever idea, especially the magnets.

That is, without question, one of the best spaceships I have ever seen. And it splits in four! Quadruple the fun!

Impressed that such a large and heavy ship is modular. Particularly like having one linked by magnet below the avenger module. Check out mine! http://www.mocpages.com/mocs.php?id=34338 Particularly: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/150051 http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/150456

nice modular ship idea and the lighting idea is awsome, outsides a little over done for me though too many greebles :P. on a side note not to be nit picking but they wouldent be gliders if they have engines of some sort.

Cool idea, a little busy though.

I like the lighting and that it can split up. However I think it has too much detail. And because of this it misses coherent design. And as somebody said before it parts are way too much like the snowspeeder from star wars. You put a lot of work into it but you have way better creations than this.

Wow... It's fun to watch these two guys below me argue. Not saying I am better or anything, but both of you need to get better at LEGO® building. Anyways, nice job, it looks fine. I like how it is made of several different ships. What will you think of next? lol

Hmmm, I dont know why i would say this but I think it has too many guns and too much detail. Second its just 3 starwars craft throne together. Not that impressive. Hey person below, I can rate it what i think. Personally I dont think this is his best. And before you start critisizing peoples reviews. I would become a bit better at lego building.

A little too much detail, but not enough for the loss of a whole smiley (ahem, person below me.)

I like the idea of modular ships, more fun to have four ships in one. Any way great detail and scale.
