Almost 2 meters tall lattice crane built in minifig scale.
About this creation
Long time ago, I was thinking (well, dreaming could be a better word) about making large minifig scale lattice-tower mobile crane. It took me a lot of time to gather specialized parts for it, especially lattice modules used only in 7632 set.
Of course, it couldn't be possbile to make that type of crane before gaining some experience by making smaller cranes. My first crane was small, six axle crane loosely based on Liebherr LTM 1200. It all started with it, because its steered/suspended axles were used succesfully in all my mobile cranes.
I proudly present my biggest crane so far, Liebherr LG 1750 lattice-tower mobile crane built in minifig scale.
As you can see, the carrier looks like massive outriggers with attached wheels. It looks that because slewing crane platform, boom and jib systems are shared with the LR 1750 crawler crane and the only way to provide similiar stability to crawler chassis was to make "four extremely rigid, folding arms".
It has eight axles suspended pendulary, six of them are steered.
The recipe for a crane:
Take a carrier, add slewing platform, that is fitted with three motorized winches.
Those winches are powered from single rechargeable battery box and steered by three PF switches.
Derrick:
Suspended ballast tray:
Main counterweight trays:
Add all available ballast and mount it on the carrrier:
Luffing jib:
Back mast:
Main boom:
The last step requires adding some links and dozen meters of rope:
i have many words to say many i can not say on here. but i saw thic on the internet once it is a prime example of what lego can do. one question where do you get all the bricks
Ah Marek, Marek Your cranes are a wonder to behold!! once again you have surpassed yourself your LG1750 is perfect!! I look forward to your next Crane? would love to see you build a liebherr 11200 crawler crane!!
Incredible! I am always stunned! I see the first picture and I think "Very nice scale recreation, lots of detail, nice truck", then I scroll down and see all the rigging and I think "OMG!", then I scroll further and see that you motorised it too, and I am lost for words! Not just that but you have scale drawings, realistic decals, a well crafted video and a professional MOCPages gallery for it. All of that takes huge amounts of time to pull off and I am severely impressed! Thanks for sharing.

Amazing! I can't even put into words how great it is. Do you know what the weight limit is with the boom up? I'm very impressed that it can lift the feller. I would love to see this in a convoy with trucks carrying the different parts of the crane. This is definitely my favorite of all your creations!
Thank you :)
The lifting capacity depends on mass of suspended ballast.
