Hand-made leather cloak and sheath.
About this creation
The cloak was made in two pieces - the cloak and the hood. I attached the hood at two points with sinew on the shoulders at the front. The hood can be pushed back, but I failed to snag a picture of that. I also used a bit of superglue to keep the fold of the hood in the back held down - what sucks about that is I now can not attach anything to the neck on the back like a quiver. The sheath was made from the same piece of leather as the cloak. I simply wrapped the leather around the sword and pulled it extremely tight around the sword as I sewed it up with sinew (that had to be stripped down to make it small enough). I thought I might have to coat the sheath in something to make it rigid, but after soaking it in water with the sword sheathed, it firmed up really well. Anyway, please feel free to comment or ask questions!

Quoting Lee McDonough You know, I thought of something like this a while back. Unfortantly I only had hard tool leather. A decent job however and I like it! What kinda of leather did you use? And sewing the sword sheath must have been tough. This could be an interesting thing to sell on Bricklink if you care too. I'd be interested in some capes/cloaks if you ever do consider making extra.
I appreciate it, thanks. I've kicked around the idea of making more and selling them, but just haven't had the time. I'm taking some time off in the next couple of weeks and will probably experiment with some other stuff. I'm not positive what exactly the leather is...I think it was a piece of thin double shoulder. I picked up at tandy leather a year or so ago. I wet it and stretched it by hand to get it even remotely thin enough to stick under the head.
