Fallout minifigs, part 1
LEGO 'figs based on the Fallout games, mostly Fallout 1, Fallout 3, and Fallout New Vegas.
About this creation

LEGO minifigs based on the awesome series of post-apocalyptic RPG video games called Fallout. Mostly from Fallout 1, Fallout 3, and Fallout: New Vegas.

All minifigs shown here were created using custom decals that I designed myself. Don't forget to check out my Decal Shop!

The Vault Dweller

"War... war never changes.

"In 2077, the storm of world war had come again. In two brief hours, most of the planet was reduced to cinders. And from the ashes of nuclear devastation, a new civilization would struggle to arise."

NOTE: I promise I will make an awesome post-apoc LEGO scene to go with these minifigs eventually... maybe even two! I really want to build some scenery to go with these, but right now I can't, so here are the minifigs. I plan to make more soon.

"A few were able to reach the relative safety of the large underground Vaults. Your family was part of the group that entered Vault Thirteen. Imprisoned safely behind the large Vault door, under a mountain of stone, a generation has lived without knowledge of the outside world."

From left to right: a Vault security guard (like the ones seen in Vault 101 in Fallout 3), a female Vault dweller, the male hero Vault Dweller from the original Fallout (in classic Armored Vault Jumpsuit), and last but not least... the Vault Boy! He's the unmistakable mascot of the game series.

"Life in the Vault... is about to change."

Here are the back decals. As noted above, I forgo to change the font on the Vault Dweller's "13" to the more fitting one seen on the female dweller. I'll have to do that before I build the diorama. All of these particular dwellers are from Vault 13, home to the hero of the original Fallout.

R.I.P. Black Isle Studios. You are sorely missed. Thankfully a lot of the developers from Black Isle have since formed Obsidian Entertainment, and Bethesda, who now own the rights to the franchise and created Fallout 3, allowed them to make the awesome Fallout: New Vegas!

Raiders! The wasteland is full of 'em. After the bombs fell, raiding apparently became the main occupation of most survivors. These were mostly based on raiders seen in Fallout 3. I've always wondered why no Fallout game has ever let you join a gang of raiders. I mean, all you would do is raid people, but it would be kinda fun for a "chaotic evil" sort of character.

The raiders' back decals. Yes, that is a tire wrapped around the central figure's shoulder. I took a LEGO tire and cut a gap in it, then just stuck it on. Simple, but effective! It's based on the tire-shoulder of the Blastmaster armor in Fallout 3. The spiked shoulders worn by the other two raiders are from the awesome Prince of Persia movie sets.

The Super Mutants, classic enemies in all of the Fallout games, are not the result of nuclear radiation like the many zombie-like Ghouls that wander the wastes. No, the super mutants were created by the Forced Evolutionary Virus (FEV), an experiment to speed up the evolution of humanity. They are enormous, strong, and can live practically forever, but they are also relatively stupid and completely sterile.

The super mutant minifig with the minigun is based on the original super mutant design seen in Fallout 1, 2, and New Vegas, with those weird mouth-straps of questionable purpose. These mutants originated in the Mariposa Military Base on the West Coast, and after the Vault Dweller released them from the control of the Master, they eventually became reasonable and productive members of society, as in the case of Marcus, founder of Broken Hills and later Jacobstown.

The mutant with the hammer, on the other hand, is based on the strain of mutants seen in Fallout 3. They were created in Vault 87 by a modified version of the virus, which resulted in even more size and strength and even less brains. They're so insane that they don't even need the mouth-straps - their mouths are stuck in the snarl anyway. Only a couple of them retained enough brains and sanity to be friendly to the player.

And here's the moment I'm sure you've been waiting for: the Brotherhood of Steel! All I've made so far are a few different suits of power armor: namely the T-51b (the original design, which appears in every Fallout game) and the T-45d (the design most often seen in Fallout 3, which also shows up in New Vegas). Canonically, the T-51b armor is superior. It also has a cooler-looking helmet. The soldier on the far left is sporting a pair of BrickForge shoulder pauldrons. The grizzled old BoS Paladin seen in the middle here, carrying the big plasma weapon, is wearing the T-51b armor without the extra shoulders. I'm not sure which one I like better...

The back decals of the BoS. I'm sure a few of you might take issue with my use of the Explorien helmets for the Power Armor. I know it's not perfect, but it's a lot easier to replicate than a more complex, heavily-customized design would have been. Plus, I mean, it's got the hoses and the gas mask thing - what more do you want?!

Finally, here's my Brotherhood Outcast. The Outcasts are those members of the Brotherhood of Steel who refused to follow Elder Lyons, leader of the Capital Wasteland branch of the Brotherhood, when he started straying from the classic technology-hoarding ideals of the Brotherhood in order to help the weak and needy. They're basically the most badass Brotherhood guys you meet in Fallout 3, and as such, they have the most awesome armor.

All minifigs shown here were created using custom decals that I designed myself. Don't forget to check out my Decal Shop!

That's all for now, but expect more Fallout LEGO creations fairly soon! Especially if these prove popular.

I'm not sure if you've noticed but GIBricks has a minigun that is pretty cool, and this weekend they have a discount on them so I got some (not to mention free shipping). Just thought I would throw that out there because moneys tight nowadays and every dollar saved you can spend on more guns

You have to make the Enclave Power Armor. Maybe make a diorama of the Brotherhood of Steel fighting the Enclave with Liberty Prime! Or have you gotten that far into the story of Fallout 3?

Excellent design. I like the decal shoulders over brick forge, more detail. The t-51 helmet choices both have their pro's and con's. The straps for the mutants if i remember right is so that their upper lip and, cheek doesn't droop and impair their speech. If you wouldn't mind checking my weapons ideas because if that thing your outcast is holding is a laser rifle. tsk tsk tsk.
