The Elements of War.
About this creation
In a serine lagoon, two students, each nearing mastery of his surrounding elements, find themselves pitted against each other once again to further hone their skills.

The master has raised each of them from the time they could barely walk and has taught them well.

He is so much more than a teacher to them, more like a father as they are like brothers to one another.

Both students will soon be given their final test before they are released to join the war.

The master watches closely.

Both of his prize pupils have been evenly matched for so long and the master wonders who will be victorious this day.

Will it be Kaji, the fire warrior with his barely controllable temper...

or perhaps Kai Sui, the water warrior. Only time will tell as they near their final test.

Fourth Wall Commentary: So a couple of things inspired this, well it's too big to be a vig and too small to be a dio so, we'll go with Bignette (I think that's the proper term). First was Hans Dendauw's AWESOME moc of the teacher meditating with his student. And yeah, I TOTALLY stole the "kneeling" pose from him on that one. The bamboo technique I've seen in a few places but I think Goldman was where I first saw it. The other was that I watched "Avatar: The Last Airbender" a few days ago. Ya know, that movie wasn't nearly as bad as they would have you believe. So anyway, I had this thought in my head of two students sparring while using thier chosen elements and this morning, after I tore down the maze and sorted it, I threw this together. Basically, I wanted to get the concept out of my head and in brick and done so that I could move on to more important things like my BrickWorld builds.

Well, hope you liked it. That's all for now! Till next time true believers!
~Chris.

it s very elegantly done! elemental creations in lego is quite tough! as i experience myself, with convincing explosion effects, in my mind for months, you had the right idea for the fighting emplacement style, quite an exciting and exotic place! did you ever had to do explosions? lol! i love this, it s awesome chris!

I only had to read the name and look at the thumbnail to know this was going to be inspired by The Last Airbenderl. I was a little dissapointed with that film, as there was no indication of it ever being a split story, there is so obviously room for a sequel. Master well the elements, you do... whoops different film. ~Thoy

Yep. I know what you mean, I have my mental "to do" list packed full for months, and a half-finished Lovecraftian MOC. Talking about throwing concepts out of the way...

Nice work! I love the fire dude especially, and Hans' kneeling master is a winner. Great scene, how do you keep finding the time to make all these builds with the Mocathalon and Brickworld projects?! I feel like I haven't made anything in a month.

You're right, sir. The term is "Bignette" I'm surprised as it is such an obscure term, since anything past 16x16 most people go with 'dio'. And on the "Airbender" I think it is just as bad compared to the actual me, my brother and sister are all fans (they more so than me) of the "Avatar" show. I'm not sure if you saw the original series but the movie cant hold a candle to it.

I really like this Phippy, the landscape is calm and serene in a nice contrast to the battle going on, a great concept there. Also no wonder the Master is so good, I wonder if he levitated up to the top of those rocks :)

Awesome MOC! Though not too long ago, I realized that you haven't posted any Fortress of Solitude journal entries. Has it been scrapped, or is it still a WIP?

Worst Halo MOC ever! Oh wait that was a different build. Nicely done with the elemental war. Some nice posing and the scenery is great. Well done grasshopper, your skills continue to grow.

It appears the forensic anthropologist did not rearranged Mr. Boner's bones correctly, something like the skull stuck between the pelvis and the coccyx. We'll get this jumbleness in order shortly ... good one with the "readable" words, Mr. Encryptor! XD ... (I've seen this technique before. Slick!)

Dang it, now you've got Goldman giving you faint praise. I suppose that means I'm going to have to start trying to improve. I hate you now. This is a really great build, but like Kelso I have a suggestion: Why not have two debaters whose pointed words serve as deadly weapons while master kneels at my feet, acknowledging just how awesome Keith, Mark, and I are?

Yeah, as long as you disregard the pathetic dialogue, the movie was pretty cool, and certainly better thant he critics indicated. Although it pains me to say it, you may actually be getting better, Phipson. If you keep this up you may loose your reputation as a mediocre builder. I'm actually seeing some attention to detail....this must be the 7th sign ; ) Kudos.

Quoting Keith Goldman ....this must be the 7th sign ; ) Kudos.
Actually it's only the 6th. The 7th is when Kelso finishes Apocalypisis.
Quoting Master Shifu Leo J You make it sound like a throw away MOC. I thought this will be part of your BW display. Might as well. It kicks arse!
Thanks man! It's not exactly a throw away although it only took me a couple hours to build. I'm flattered that you thought this was good enough to be part of the BW build. Let's put it this way, not even CLOSE! Our BW collaborative is gonna blow you guys away, I promise. Too bad you all have to wait till June to see it.
Quoting Mark Kelso Battling elements is pretty sweet Phippy, but what I'd really like to see is something like battling food elements. You know...one dude has the power of asparagus...
The guy with asparagus (piddle) would win every time. What is it about that veggie that makes it stink so bad? And thanks for all the great comments guys! I really appreciate every one of them!

ok, i wasn't going to comment on this cause i should be going to sleep now, but then i noticed how you did the rock spires that the sensei is kneeling on, and that was very clever. so here's a comment for you :) (oh, and the rest of the build looks good too)

Very well done, and if you liked the movie The Last Airbender, then I highly recommend you watch the cartoon series. It's much less childish in my opinion, surprisingly enough. Check it out on Netflix, you won't be disappointed. Well, your wife might, there are four seasons and they kind of take up your free time when you get hooked. :)

Battling elements is pretty sweet Phippy, but what I'd really like to see is something like battling food elements. You know...one dude has the power of asparagus...one warrior is skilled in condiments, that sort of thing. Yeah, asparagus vs. ketchup - epice man, EPIC I say!

Well, I thought I posted new mocs too quickly, but you beat me! I wasn't very impressed with The Last Airbender movie, but I'm SUCH the harda-- movie critic. Love the fire VS water idea (age-old as it is).
