Presenting a work in progress: my 2-6-2 Prairie locomotive. This is my first large train MOC, and my first MOC to use a Power Functions drive train. These photos show the unfinished, undetailed locomotive.
She still needs a cab roof, some details around the cab, and a few tender details. Any part not in light bley, black, or detail yellow is a placeholder, and parts are on order to replace them. This was somewhat thrown together, as it had been a design project of mine for several years, but only recently translated into bricks.
The locomotive itself does not contain the powertrain. All of the PF equipment has been crammed into the tender. And I really do not relish ever needing to remove it. I'm tempted to lay the money down for the rechargeable box for that reason. The cylinders are smaller than designed and have also been altered in their connection to the smokebox, as they were in the way of the lead truck. The boiler was lengthened by three studs overall during the build.
There's no specific prototype; rather I wanted a relatively generic locomotive to give myself some building experience on, and some different motive power for my Lego rail network.
