Looks better. The new thighs give it a distinctive look. Now all you need to do is build a hedgehog head (say that five time real fast.) No? Alright then, it looks great. ^Blub^
yep, I spotted the sonic thing straight away (even subtly continued the theme with the onyx which is definitely a shadow parody)

You know, this looks a bit like a certain speedy blue hedge that well all know. Aside from the spindly thighs, it looks good. As for the ball joint glitch: If LDD determines that there are too many pieces attached to the joint, it won't give you the hinge option. Even if there are no clearnace issues, and the joint would feasibly work in real life, it won't do it. Multi-select all the parts off the joint, and it should move freely again. Once you've found the position you want, multi-select all the parts again and replace them on the joint. I hope this helps. ^Blub^
took on board what you said and changed the upper leg. let me know what you think. |

Sonic the Hedgehog was a good comparison. This looks really cool. 90% of the time that I was having trouble moving joints of any kind, it turned out that there was a piece that was not attached to anything, somewhere, and was acting as a clearance obstacle. Make sure you check all the pieces to make sure they are attached properly. ALso, you may want to consider moving to LDD 3 and unlocking the universe theme. LDD 3 doesn't really have these same problems.
I'll certainly consider it. Strange that LEGO haven't done something about it as I'm not the only person moaning that the hinge tool is defective in the latest version. Ho well.
By the way, I've made some modifications.

mmm yeah, I wanted the thighs to look lean, but maybe for the scale they are a little too thin. Almost cartoon like.
I hadn't realised it looked like sonic, perhaps because the blue was a last minute change. |
