The finished UCS Imperial Star Destroyer in all it's glory.
About this creation
And after 2 days of building, the great and mighty heart of the Imperial fleet, the Imperial Star Destroyer is now complete and sitting on display in my room. I don't think anything I have built in the past can come nearly to the beauty and detail, and perfection of this model. It's just an amazing site. The looks much more stunning in person then in a picture.
Well I need to go through my favourite parts of the ship:
-The Engines, great detail, and I'm not really sure why else i like the,. I just really like it. Maybe its the blue parts in the engines, or the cool angles on parts of it.
-The Ion Canons on the sides. Again I'm not really sure why I like them, but I really like the look of them.
-The Command Bridge, alot of great detail and plus I also love how the shield generators came out.
And of course the whole model in general, but those are my favourite parts.
Now know what would go GREAT siting beside this model? The UCS Death Star II...hopfully next chirstmas I will get that. At this rate I most likley will ask for that.
UPDATE 16/06/07 (about 5 months after I finished building)
After 5 months of owning my Star Destroyer, it is still looking perfect (besides the dust) But no droping on the nose or anything. I'm definatly sure that adding that 3rd stand to support the nose more was a great idea.
I was bored Monday and so started to take a crack at this, got if for me B day, I'm 16, finished it yesterday, today made a to scale Falcon. I also turned it into a Imp. II your is very nice too. Also your color accuacy puts mine to shame.
Congratulations. I have one of these myself and wow, what a great set. Not only the *hundreds* of great greebling parts, there are some truly fascinating techniques in the construction. I hope you've learned some useful lessons while building it!
