Easily one of my new favorite cars, it looks sporty but not to much so. Some of today's supercars look like all they can do is look good and go fast. This one looks like it could handle some dirt.
About this creation
Among other things I'm working on, I managed to build this: a Porsche 911 Turbo. And a tank, but thats not why you clicked here. Anyway... I tried a few new things on MocPages and also on MS Paint. First off I tried adding people to my fav' builder list, but then had to remove all of them(my apologies) since I couldn't see what my 'activity' had been, only everyone elses'. Second, I tried a new photo area, and I also tried to 'retouch' some problem spots on the photos. Such as screw holes and the edge of the shelf I took pictures on. And the main photo. But I've done enough typing... please enjoy the Porsche! And maybe comment?

The front, which turn out nicely.

The headlights could be a tad larger, but 3 stud dia. disks looked much to large.

This one might manage to survive a few weeks amongst my bricks. We'll see.

The side profile is the only problem spot, something seems distorted. I dunno what.

The back, which turn out great.

BLURPLE!! Eh... Top Gear fans will get that one, but its more of an inside joke.

Everything opens well.

Door open.

The interior, with a totally new dash board. I hadn't tried building 'em like this before.

Some comfy seat, which admittedly shouldn't be two tone, but a don't have any more red.

The roomy trunk. I guessed here, since Google failed to provide any trunk views. I mean seriously, type in "Porsche 911 Turbo' at Google, all they show is the new ones! GAH!!!

The engine, a horizontally opposed 6 cylinder. With (1 or 2?) turbo chargers. I'm not sure, again, thanks Google, you really helped me out there(not).

Most of the engine is greebles, since the whole thing is only 2 studs thick at most points.

Overall shots

Vrooom!

I gotta get me one of these... I probably said that about the last car I built.

Thanks for Viewing!

Not really... I don't usually give instructions. And the car is long gone unfortunately. |

I really like the looks(I mean this is as good as it gets in that area) but since I am more of a functions oriented builder it would be nicer to see some ackerman steering, some drivetrain(piston engines smaller than the lego ones are buildable so all of this is possible)and even possibly suspension at the cost of stunning looks. In my personal opinion that would be better but great build once again. |

Sure, Porsche is making some amazing cars today, but the old ones are still my favorites. So, SUPERB work on this! The fenders and roof look like they were the hardest parts to build. (???) But the hardest parts usually end up being the best-looking! |

Nice. The distorcion is this (I think); The front must be 1 stud longer, with red bodywork down in FRONT of the front wheel!
Also, one could argue that the roof and back should be ONE single curved line (and not break at the spoiler) -but I think it wont be necesarry to change that. See a profile here; http://www.topclassiccars.com/porsche-911-turbo-%281990-1995%29.html |

Beautiful! I can tell what's wrong with the side profile... the roof should be a plate or two higher. Still, it's a very subtle detail, and from all other angles this car is spot-on. Nice door handles, wheel arches, headlights, everything! |

This looks absolutely superb!! Easily 5 stars. But I would say, if you got the wheel-arch and rear techniques from anyone (as I've seen a really similar brown Porsche on Bricklink) it would be good to credit them. If not no worries, you've just come up with the 'right' way to build a Porsche! Great build
If I you're thinking of the technique I think you're thinking of, this one is different. I dont use any rods or clips in this design. |
