Mocathalon 2011; Entry #21-Carrot on a stick
Here is entry #21, "Carrot on a stick" for the Mocathalon 2011. We'll keep this short and sweet. After all it's the pics we all came to see. I hope you all enjoy this little escapade into minifig mayhem.
About this creation
The Leftovers

Mocathalon 2011

Here we have a slight derivation of the "carrot on the stick" motif. Instead we have human stuck on a pole screaming for his bloody life while messing his shorts!

Sometimes though one hapless human on a stick just ain't enough so you need to keep a couple of spares safely under glass!

The blinders calm the critter down, allowing the driver to bring the cart to a stop.

Our beast of burden is known as the Phalanx Beetle. Despite its small size, when compared to its dark master, the Phalanx is very strong and can easily pull ten times its own weight for days without tiring.

What's clear is that it loves the smell of humans. Even crazier, the wildest thing it craves though is the smell of human flatulence. That's right people, this bug goes goo goo for farts!

Raidax is a bit of an enigma. What little is known is that he is a wandering bounty hunter who specializes in hand-to-hand combat with finger claws and combination trident/scythe.

He also has a concussion cannon mounted on his left shoulder. The ammo is stored on his cart and he uses this when confronted by large groups of enemies.

On power that our dark specter possesses is known as the Halo Wave. By lowering his horns and raising the halo, he can create a wave that knocks out electronic devices thereby allowing him to take out any opponents the the old-fashioned way, melee combat.

Nothing like screaming space carrots to drive our overgrown bug wild. As if they needed to be named but from left to right they are; whimpering Pauly Hogans, terror-stricken Bill O' Shansky and neurotic Ned Welboeski.

Last but certainly not least a parting shot of our entire crew both mini and humongous!

Thanks again and I am actually enjoying the contest even though by the time I get home from work I'm usually too far gone to get any real building done. This means I am literally chained to my little cave, building like a psychotic gerbil hopped up on crack through all hours of the night! Trust me it isn't a pretty picture. My next build is well under way and will be hopefully ready real soon.

First off, your pictures are perfectly fine, I think W Mark just like being overly critical. The build ain't bad either, very alien. The spare treats were a great touch. I hope you're enjoying the competition and I can't wait to see what your team stuck you with next!~H

Great stuff! The fact you have built the driver and creature as well as the chariot makes this a really solid and well deserved 4 pointer.

Thank you everyone for your comments on this little freak show of mine! I know it isn't perfect but I think it's at least a bit more than half-way decent myself. As for the photography comments, I already use a tripod and my camera has macro in use while I'm taking my pictures. The only way my pictures are going to improve is if I either take some classes in photography or learn how to use Photoshop. That probably won't happen before this contest ends. So like it or lump it, this is what I can do at this point.

pretty funny

Hmm, the concept is a bit similar to my as-of-yet unphotographed entry for this category, I hope I don't lose points for unoriginality... :P As for the MOC, the creature is nice, but the chariot is too flat and flimsy, and either the Bionicle figure's torso is too bulky or the legs are too short and thin.

The extra supply of carrots, er, space dudes is hilarious. >> 4 points <<

Nice idea. Your score = 3

Wow... what a twisted take on this theme. It's kind of funny, but I think it would benefit from some better photography. Consider investing in a small tripod, and narrow your camera's apeture and lengthen the exposure time when you're taking pictures (the "macro" setting will do this automatically).

Cool chariot, man! You know what it needs? A whip of some sort for the driver to urge on the creature! Great idea though with the person!

Didn't know they loved that smell. No wonder there's so many of them outside Kelso's house... Nice chariot, good concept and fun backstory. 4 points. ~ Chris.

Dude! Nice work, I think this will do better than my first entry. Nicely done to be sure, and love the added mini-figs. Those Mars Mission figs are one of my faves... I have finished my pirate build, it's different, but I like it... Later dude...
