AEGAKS F402-Q "Locust".

The Locust is another swarm design (akin to the AEGAKS-111-0Rd "Wisp") but where the Wisp is airborne, the Locust is entirely ground based. Like their name sake they are relatively harmless individually, with their dual chain guns and twin forward semi-automatic cannons. However in large numbers they can shred the armour of even the most powerful drone in seconds. Used as siege weapons, they can literally strip the concrete walls of a bunker to dust in minutes with concentrated fire.

Both fast and stable over even rough terrain. Armour is quite heavy offering individual Locust a fair degree of resistance to returned fire.

Major weakness is that they are vulnerable if upended, though they can use their weapon-limbs to right themselves.

As always the AEGAKS cockpit can be ejected.

CREATOR NOTES:

I took on board some of the suggestions regarding the F401-Q with regards to it not having a clear function. The addition of the weapon-limbs and heavier armour now give us a clearer picture of what this thing does (and hides the rather lack lustre greebling on the rear of the cockpit).

The cockpit itself returns to my standard AT series frame cockpit, I may make some changes to this design to make a clearer distinction between the two, but for now it does what I wanted so I'm ok with it.

Not shown, the arms can be pivoted in and out and up and down. I've tried to keep armour minimal on the "forearm" section so that the weight would not be an issue. This does mean that the ball joints on the legs may have to support more weight than they can handle, but they could easily be replaced with EXO force ratchet joints in a real brick build.

This was originally going to be named like the rest of my AT series with a precious gem name (such as Jade or Emerald) but I have a different idea in mind for Jade.

A solid and robust looking walker/mech/tank thing. It looks very playable and would be a great Lego set.

These guys look like a force to be wreckened with. The name really goes with the concept. I could really imagine a swarm of this walkers just over taking an enemy.

See my comment under the "roach", while I like the squat look, there might be clearance issues with such short legs so I've extended them in the next series.

thanks, I have to admit I'm just making up the code references as I go (which is why I didn't refer to the standard L frame, S frame conventions).

Actually no, the name was suggested for my previous design F401-Q and I thought it fit. I never realised HALO/Bungee had used it already. EDIT: I googled Halo Wars and can see why you thought the two designs are connected. They are both quad mechs. Weird since I've never seen the design before. Thanks for the comment.

just made sense since it's small and not very heavily armed that it would opperate in groups rather than individual. plus with a name like Locust you imagine it in swarms.
