The Phantom Cart
Team 5 Easy Pieces in Forced Perspective
About this creation
This is an imitation of a painting by Salvador Dali. In the painting, Dali achieves a double image, meaning that the same object can be seen to represent another entirely different object. Upon first glace, one sees a cart traveling towards a distant town driven by a man and horse. However, when we associate the shape of the driver with the buildings and that of the horse with the rubble on the road, we see that both the driver and horse have vanished into the background. By creating this illusion, Dali portrays the tendency of the irrational paranoic mind to read hidden meanings and discredit reality.

Brilliant beyond all question. Nevertheless I also would like to see some more pictures. Btw, I love Dali, so thank you for this entry.

Super portrayal here! Man, how do you build with such quality AND speed at the same time!? You've already put out like 5 great builds this week. You are a dangerous man, with Lego in your hand.

Interessting MOC (although we dont see much of it ;-) The reproduction is superb, but I must admit that I dont see any other image in it; neither in the MOC nor in the original painting...

You picked a real challenge with this painting. Well done! I don't know why, but I find the canted wheels of the cart particularly pleasing. Attack!

Man, I like a good produced FP - but one which is based on a real picture... I love it - Score = 5
