LEGO Halo Sabre on LDD
Sabre: It's a little bit of Star Wars goodness in the awesomeness of Halo Reach.
About this creation
Alright, I'm going to make this clear. This will be, by far, the crappiest Sabre on MOCpages. Although the visuals look okay and it's got a cool color scheme, it's structure is crappy, it will fall apart in real life, and it is uncomfortably disproportional.

Oh, and hi there. For any of you who don't know, the Sabre is a starfighter from the space level in Reach, during Operation: UPPERCUT. It was deployed along with frigates to combat the incoming Space Banshees, Seraphs, and Corvettes in the space above Reach, and the mission was to blow up some valuable Covvie Corvette. So, without further ado, the Sabre.

An overhead Covvie Corvette view. The side "wings" are about one or two studs too long, but this picture is nonetheless my favorite. You also might be wondering why the Sabre is black instead if its in-game grey. This is because I think that if you create a starfighter, the color scheme should always be black with grey. It's just something that's weird about me.

Front view. The wings are pretty ugly here, but like the last picture, it still looks okay.

Side view. Yes, the cockpit is pretty invisible in the picture. This picture is the most to-scale because you can't see the lengthy wings from this angle.

Close up of the cockpit area. Another thing that pretty much ticks me off is that even though I got the visual right, the cockpit doesn't open. At all. It deeply depresses me when I create a Lego creation that is missing a play feature. The nose, although a bit blocky in the sides, is overall very well done.

A shot of the laser cannons, and how I made the sloped exterior of the main body. Contrary to parts I'll show you later, this sloped part is pretty stable.

A shot of the thruster engine, or at least the front part of it, and how it is connected to the main body. This engine is only connected to the main body at two points, which means that this thing will NOT survive a 5 foot fall while swooshing.

Back shot, which also looks really good, because of the thruster fire from the engines and the overall shot that hides most of the disproportionate parts of the starfighter.

A directly back picture, and while it doesn't hide the oversized wings or ugly lower connection point, it still looks great with the engines.

A shot of both engines on a side, and how they are connected. Slopes are all I used, which means this thing is also susceptible to warping from the original shape.

A (weak) connection point in the back of the starfighter (supposedly) to connect the two large engines and (hopefully) stop them from swaying side to side.

From the ground, diagonally. Again, not a bad pic.

Comparison in size to the Space Banshee Interceptor I made a while earlier. Say, does anybody know how big a Sabre is supposed to be? Stupid Halopedia (or is it Halo Nation? There are two of them now :S) doesn't necessarily say. I guessed based on how Noble Six and Jorge seemed to look in terms of the cockpit size in a clip from the game.

Face-off!

And that's the closing shot. While I think most of the visuals are beautiful and computer-desktop-background worthy, it's nonetheless a failed creation on my part. Please comment, and maybe I'll muster up the courage and lost self-esteem to fix it up and post a v.2.

Yeah the wings need work, and I personally wouldn't have used black, but overall this is pretty good

Hey Crazy Awesome, I used your Sabre for this fighter. Why don't you check it out? I'm giving credit to you for the body and cockpit of it. http://mocpages.com/moc.php/334706. I also fixed some things so that it won't fall apart in real life.

Quoting Bob the inconceivably invincible Awesome! Very well designed, though I don't know what it is supposed to look like.

Quoting Eric 'Hawk' Mickle Black is better camo than grey anyway. Also it seemed off a little bit to me when you said they were on a mission to blow up a covvie corvette, they were actually capturing it to place a rigged slipspace generator to teleport half of a Covy Carrier to no where. I know, I have to correct people. >Eric
Don't worry, i like to correct people too, but right now I guess I have been corrected :P

Quoting Yapdap "Cyber-Tiger" The Unggoy Cool. All right you probably do need a v2 to get it perfect. When I used your halo scorpion download link it came up with a junky Avatar scorpion. Whats up?
You mean, like a Scorpion VTOL vehicle like in Avatar? That is insanely weird. I can go and re-post that download link, if so pleased.
