I haven't made a gun in a while, so I decide to make an AK-47 with a built in red dot scope (that actually works!). It is 100% Lego; I just used a lightbrick and magnifying glass to make a laser pointer, and then I just aimed it at the window on the scope. All of the lights are on the inside of the gun, and a small lever on the outside turns the scope on. The whole gun is 32 inches long, by far the biggest gun I have ever made. I barely had enough red pieces to finish it, but I eventually found enough to finish. I hope you like it, and don't forget to rate and comment!
About this creation
Here is a couple of shots of the red dot sight. It was hard to get good pictures of it, so I put on a couple.
This is just a pic of the normal sights without the red dot sight.
A couple close ups.
some FPS views.
Well that's it; tell me what you think!

Nice AK! The red dot is brilliant! The standard 30 round mag should be a bit longer however. |

Great gun, gun, but honesty the mag is really bad. The fore grip and gas tube and stuff in the front is the best Ive ever seen though! |

Yeah, I've seen how people do that with the bottom slant pieces placed studs forward on the back of the pistol grip, but the photos on here don't show much in the way of detail. I just need the basic foundation of the design to replicate it. And probably more roof-tile pieces. |

This is beyond words, man. But could you help me out with the pistol grip? Mine are so primative compared to most of the ones on here, and for the life of me I can't figure them out. I've tried everything I can think of, but no dice.
Well what I did on this gun was make the studs point forwards, so that it was easier to shape. Also, if you look at some other guns on MOCpages, you can see how other people make them. |

Wonderful job here! I've made a similar dot scope in the past, but yours seems to be better hidden ;) 5/5

Nice! This things the exact same length of my M16A4 short... Exactly how did u make the RDS?
It's pretty much explained in the info: a lightbrick with a magnifying glass to make a laser pointer, and then aimed at the window on the scope. The light and magnifying glass is inside the body of the gun, and a small switch on the mag turns it on. Hope that helps. |
