Mech Base Lima Echo Golf October
Lima Echo Golf October is a fully functional and independent Mech facility that can perform numerous functions.
About this creation

On some backwater planet along the Steiner/Clan border lies Lima Echo Golf October(LEGO). Stationed there, the crew standby to defend against Clan attacks. The base has the capability to perform even the most difficult repairs with the overhead crane, welding and coolant station, repair exosuit and various other tools. It also keeps the pilots at their best in the simulator.

This is my final creation with this round of Battletech construction. The two hardest aspects of building this were construction materials and cats... As you can see from the top few layers of the repair bay, I essentially ran out of yellow bricks. Oh well. The oldest cat liked to nuzzle and lay against the crane supports, which resulted in fixing it on a few occasions. The kitten simply liked to bat loose bricks around on the rug. So, I started relocating the monstrosity when I was done for the day. Sadly, it doesn't like to be picked up. I found that out the hard way and had to conduct major repairs on one occasion. Whatever the case, I really enjoyed making it and I hope you enjoy looking at it, as well as the extras.

Here's a front view of the massive doors allowing access by the Mechs. Yes, the Mechs do fit through them. I added the different colored pieces for rock coloration and the plant life at the end of the construction.

The outside defense platform is armed with a dual medium laser turrent and long range missile rack coupled with the automated tracking system.

The office part of the base. On the left is training simulator. Currently, one of the rookie pilots is going through some urban combat training simulation. While the simulator itself is advanced, the neurohelmet the pilot is wearing is one from the pre-Clan invasion. In the main office, the base commander sits at the strategy desk while holding a radio to keep in communication with his deployed forces.

There's a lot of open space looking down at the repair bay and there has to be so the Mechs can manuever to the rotating repair platform under the clawed crane.

Along the back wall under the overhead platform are the diagnostic computer systems and the mech coolant storage tank. One of the technicians, wearing a blue jumpsuit, is booting up the repair and diagnostic programs.

Standing on the upper platform you can see the repair exosuit on the other side of the bay is manned and ready to get to work. That particular technician however, was not seen around the complex yesterday. Rumor has it he snuck out and went into town for some R&R.

While the exosuit perform work on the main floor, a welding station on the upper platform is available for more repairs. The hoses and connections for the coolant replacement system are station up there as well.

At the top of an inside ladder, a door allows access to the defense platform to correct problem with the weapon system.

The Warhammer is undergoing repairs and maintenance. The exosuit is presently welding armor onto the leg around the ankle joint.

Up above, two technicians standby. One is ready to flush and fill the coolant system while the other prepares to fix a pesky hinge on an ammunition access door.

It can get pretty busy and crowded down there on the floor, especially since the Locust pilot decided to come inside so he could take a break.

This is the same view as above, just further out to encompass the entire facility.

And this bunch of guys are the looniest of all, the Anti-Mech infantry. They run around behind rocks and buildings while dodging Mech feet and laser fire. On the far left is Butch armed with an inferno lanucher, which is basically a missile filled with a gel that clogs coolant vents and cooks the Mech and the pilot inside. A real nightmare to say the least. On the patrol hovercraft we have Danny doing the driving and Frank firing the dual medium lasers. Next to them is George sporting a standard short range missile launcher. On the far right is Sammy, the jump infantryman, wearing a jump pack and armed with a small laser.

The Clans have their own form of infantry, the Elementals. These guys and even gals are genetically engineered to be almost twice the size of a human to withstand the rigors of going head on against Mechs. Their suits are pretty well armored and armed with a claw for ripping armor apart, a small laser and a single shot dual short range missile launcher. A swarm of Elementals can make short work of a small Mech and even make the pilots of larger ones wary.

A back view of an Elemental. Yes, they too have jump capability which makes them even more dangerous.

I managed to get the Elementals to pose with the Madcat. Apparently, there is some animosity between the infantry and pilots.

A temporary truce was announced and I was able to take this photo of all the infantry, the Warhammer , the Locust , and the Madcat . Shortly thereafter, Butch and Sam played the pull my finger joke. The Elementals thought it was machine gun fire and went berzerk sending everyone ducking for cover.

I figure I'll leave these all put together for a while before starting the sad disassembly and instruction creation process. That way if there's any particular views anyone wants to see, I can still take a picture. I thought about photographing a battle scene but am thinking that would take too many photos and those with attention disorders wouldn't bother watching. Anyway, please let me know what you think. :)

Quoting Matty Mason Technician: 'Dude, your Locust won't fit in here! I'm telling you, get out and kill some Inner Sphere infantry!' Locust Pilot: 'You wanna tell that to my laser?' Good going with this base, it's definitely big, should hold my Mad Cat (V.2) easily. Oh, I think Elementals are regular sized people, it's just the suits are huge. And that name, what a mouthf--- IT STANDS FOR LEGO?!?!?
That's exactly what it stands for. LOL The Clan Elementals were genetically engineered to be larger and the suit was made to fit them. The Inner Sphere did create their own version using regular human pilots though.
