It's a SHIP, that I'm sure of...
About this creation
The Kilimanjaro frigate is a new addition to the fleet, and an especially welcomed one too. Introduced firstly in the Solusre conflict of 2239 at which point the Blacktron had invaded the system and overun the defense fleet, the frigate as well as several others of the class repelled the enemy destroyers and caused significant damage to the mothership, while the rest of the friendly fleet mopped up the rest.

Despite it being a lowly frigate class, it is quite heavily armed, with two quad barrelled undermounted railguns, 4 light railgun turrets, and 2 side mounted pulse laser turrets. The armament also consists of an Electronic Warefare Package (EWP), which includes Signal Intereference for those on different frequency systems, an EMP tower, which can be found at the conning tower towards the rear of the ship, and Missile detonators.

For protection, it mounts an EMF/Ionic shield generator, and dense titanium armour plating. This provides substantial protection for the 8 crew members of the ship. As an afterthought, there were no windows towards the rear to ensure no damage came to the reactors as easily.

The engine array is comprised of 3 units, the two outermost of which can be used to steer the vessel, and the middle being able to accelerate the ship to a warp speed rating of 14/20, which for it's size is extremely fast.

The railguns weren't originally going to be placed as the EMF shields of most ships would simply repel the metal rounds. However, when not only using a magnetic current but also using a warp field to increase the speed at which the round was fired, the shot could easily rip through three cruisers before slowing down. The technology eventually became known as 'Tension Field' systems.

The bridge is found at the front of the ship, which is manned by 4 of the 8 crew members.

Just behind the bridge is a small science and medical facility.

Further along the ship is the armoury, followed by the airlock. 8 pulse rifles are mounted on the rack. The quarters can be found through the next doorway.

Past the quarters are the washroom and the galley.

Finally, engineering and escape pod access can be found at the rear. The main fusion reactor along with several generators can be found here. As for the escape pods, each can hold half the crew, and once launched, containment fields are activated in both the pod and the doorway.

A final departing shot.
End notes:
I didn't actually think that this was going to be finished, but whaddaya know? I'd started it sometime last year and completely gave up ater a bit, but I somewhat obviously restarted construction this week and ended up with the result seen before you. I'd give inspirationa sources but the primary idea came from within one of my dreams, with and escape pod section which raised and lowered the pods. The colour scheme was there, and so was the general shape. Anyway, please rate/comment/do whatever you want, the rating and commenting is welcomed!

Such looooong frigate! I really like it, especially the colour scheme. May I use some of your idea from this creation if it's ok?
Be my guest! It's not often that I somewhat inspire people... |
