Special thanks to 55555 for helping me with the story. Actually, special thanks to him for his help on practically all my entries. He's awesome like that. =3
About this creation
(Team Jijsaw's entry in Pathos and Theatrics (second round) for the MocAthalon 2011.)

Along the cold stone cliffs of Northern Scotland, one man stands resolute by a shallow grave hewn into the unforgiving stone. They would call him a highlander if they knew he still existed.
A chill wind blows over the face of the cliff, ruffling the man's dirty red hair. He grips the hilt of his claymore tightly as he looks out to the grey sea with hardened eyes.
He reflects on the hundreds of battles he's outlasted through nothing more than a strong will, a powerful arm, and an earnest prayer. And for what? Freedom means nothing if it's only for oneself, and bloodied steel becomes nothing more than a cruel sign of revenge without someone to fight for. This thought overwhelms his mind as he turns to face the grave of his wife.
Another gust of wind blows over the cliff, sending a chill through his body.
Aileen.
Her name is etched in his mind forever. Nobody could replace her. Not after everything they had been through, desiring only to make a meager living in this country.
But now the man swears he will not give up. He will live on in memory of her, refusing to die. No matter how lonely and cold he becomes, he will suffer through it.

So he stands by a grave on a cliff overlooking the sea, determined to live on.

The last Highlander.

Quoting Chris Phipson Beautiful pic and a good story to back it up. I do have to say though that this being a Lego building contest there wasn't much to judge there. But, taking the category into consideration, it was a really nice entry. For bringing across the emotion we were looking for I'm going with 3 points. I wish I could go more (if we were only judging the concept it would have been a five easy) but there's just not enough build to go on. Good luck with the other judges. 3 points. ~ Chris.
Thanks, I understand. I just felt like a more complicated entry was unnecessary, since it wouldn't have conveyed the story any better.
