This is my entry into the 2011 MOC Athalon.....category is:
10. Twisted Landscape:
Make a traditional landscape with a twisted element; say a lovely meadow with zombies coming out of the ground, or a waterfall with purple water. No size restrictions.
We did a bad thing, we did. It couldn't be helped though.
There's a tale of a tree in the field over yonder that devours its helpless victims. "A man eating tree!", you might scoff. Indeed we used to do the same. It does look innocent enough though, eh?
Yes, we felt the same. Until a few years ago a handful of children went into the field on a dare. We sent a group of men to fetch them. From the distance we could see the horror. No one goes near the tree anymore.
That is until today. The King sent a tax collector around to rob us blind. We haven't had much crops this year, what do they expect from us? And yet they raise the taxes a copper piece per head? Not good.....not good 'tall.
So we sent the tax man into the field with the tree.
The legends are true, and the tax man is about to find out first hand. And good riddens to him too! Serves him right for coming 'round here, demanding money as if he owns the place. If he knew anything about our land, he would have known better. We do what we have to in order to survive....I'm sure you understand that........
