About this creation
A MadCat Battlemech from the Mechwarrior universe. This is my first attempt at building a mech so I have had a great deal of fun nutting out scale, weight & ballance.
The MOC is modular, it easily comes apart into the following sections - 2 missile pods, the torso frame, cockpit & leg module. Each of the arms & legs can also be easily removed.
I should note that 'mechs are able to be extensively modified in the Battletech universe, as a result my configuration differs somewhat from a standard variant.
This particular 'mech is piloted by the Wolf Dragoons Major, D. Lemma.

I have found it difficult to build a mech out of lego especially the madcat so when i see people get this close i just have to say great job! the only thing that i disslike is the orange color but beggers cant be choosers right? i might be posting my madcat MK 2 soon if you want to check it out. |

Awesome work on this Madcat. Great detail. Mine's about 1/2 the size of yours here. And I'm also ROFLcoptering at Phippy's comment below =P |

I'm going to be a pedantic nerd for a moment. With its boxy torso, the two guns mounted on either side of, above and behind the cockpit, and the two front toes pointing straight, this is definitely a Rakshasa, not a Mad Cat. A Mad Cat would have the side torso guns mounted below the cockpit, a rounded torso and the toes would point at 45 degree angles, and the lower legs would extend past the knee joint. http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Image:3055u_Rakshasa.jpg vs http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Image:MadCat_2.jpeg
It's still friggin awesome cause I love the Rakshasa. |

Alright everyone, sing along (you'll know the tune after you read it once)... LRM's, PPC's and a Gauss rifle. Modular weapons are what make me smile. Crush inner sphere infantry, hearing their screams. These are a few of my favorite things. ~ Chris. |

Wow, I've always been a fan of mechwarrior and I've never seen someone build a mech so large, it's inspiring. |

This is very true to the original, with two exceptions: the cockpit (it's virtually impossible to make a good Madcat or Catapult cockpit without some of those old Aquanauts cockpits) and, as you have already mentioned, the weapons config.
Good job. If I didn't have brickcommander.com for instructions, I'd never be able to build a better version myself. |

Some details are off, but making it modular is just brilliant! I hope you could refine it a bit more, but don't change the scale. |

This is excellent. I can really see how much work you put into this! I always wanted to make one of these when I was a kid. The cockpit is money, and the PPC cannons are excellent too. This is a really nice model. Keep up the good work! |

The upwards 3/4 shot from the front is pure money. Great proportion with the limbs, legs look scwhweet! Cheers! ~ Paul. |
