The Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker is an aerial refueling military aircraft. It was the US Air Force's first jet powered refueling tanker. The Stratotanker was initially tasked to refuel strategic bombers, but was also used to extend the range and endurance of tactical fighters and bombers. Despite increased maintenance costs, studies conclude many of the aircraft could be flown until 2040. After a controversy between the USAF, Airbus and Boeing, the aircraft will be replaced after about 80 years by the Boeing KC-46.
I like the wings, they have a great profile
The KC-135 was build with cheap turbojets...
...instead of modern, but expensive turbofans
Boom in normal position
Boom with ruddervators
old wings, similiar like a B-52
grey body without windows, but a cargo door in the front
...was a overhauled version, featuring new turbines,...
The front indeed is awesome and a very effective, impressive looking technique for making an aircraft nose section! Much better than many of your previous attempts in my opinion. Keep it up like this, Felipe. I think this definetely is a way to go! Best regards, Steffen
