Bespin Duel
Believe it or not, I'm working on some non-SW figs, but, while waiting on some Bricklink orders, I thought I'd crank this out! I continue with my redesigning/rebuilding of my action-fig (or miniland) scale SW figures. Per Jason Corlett's request, I built Vader in his fateful duel with Luke. As always, please RATE and COMMENT:)
About this creation

After I posted this, I decided to use my light-up Lightsaber idea and do this moody pic of Vader!

Luke

Luke (not yet) ready for Vader!

Vader. To answer your question: YES! Vader's helmet is hard to build in Lego in any scale (especially this one).

One of my many regrets with the head is that Lego doesn't make the right pieces to make Vader's helmet jut out in the back.

Vader ready to put the smack-down to Luke!

Bonus Pic: Originally, I built this backdrop, but wasn't happy with it. I thought I'd include it to see what you all think:)

Really good representation of the characters and scene, but I'm with Leda - NON-SW builds? My poor fragile little mind is struggling to cope with the possibilities.....

Quoting Bartosz k nice job on Vader and Luke. what are the parts that you used for the knee joints called? i want to search them up on bricklink
They're called pneumatic t-pieces:)

Quoting Leda Kat =^..^= Awesome! I love Luke's boots! And what's this I hear about some non SW stuff?! Huh?! Don't mess with the delicate balance of my fragile universe!
Not to worry, my dear Leda; it will only be a BRIEF departure.

Quoting Chris Phipson Luke: "That's not true! That's impossible!" Vader: "Well son you see, when two people love each other very much..." Really stunning work Moody! You've got this thing down pat! Ya know what would be cool to see at this scale... The Fellowship. Just a thought. ~ Chris.
Thanks, man! I actually never considered LOTR, but I'll keep that in mind:)

amazing work! i epspecially like the light sabers(even thoguh there simple). it would be cool to see a final duel done while you've got vader together.

This is sheer mastery of the scale. Darth Vader's helmet could not possibly be better given the part range.

Awesome work! I like the backdrop, it looks just like the Bespin tube. It's a bit of a shame you couldn't do anything with the back of Vader's helmet. Oh well, I guess you could say that he got rear-ended. Hahaha! Keep it up, these figures are great!

Quoting Deus _ The action doesn't look that action-y, I think Vader's hand bothers me. Second problem I have with the MOC are the lightsabres. You could have used those technic pin bars with 1/2 technic pins on. But I guess I couldn't make it as good as you did. Or can I?..
I went through several different takes of this scene and ended up with this. I actually tried to pose Vader's arms like Luke's, but the arms are too bulky. If you think you can do better, then I'd love to see it:)

Quoting JS Can Good work, but a very small detail (that I may be wrong about)... the bottom of the gantry wasn't solid, was it? I think it had holes through it. I only bring it up because I think LEGO makes floor panels like that.
Thanks! I actually forgot that the floor wasn't solid. Plus, I was trying to have a studded floor for the figs to stand on. Maybe in V2 I'll include those grate parts your talking about:)

Quoting Ken ... Awesome job! To get Vader's helmet to jut out a little bit do you think this would work: http://www.findmybrick.com/product_info.php?cPath=54&products_id=691&osCsid=5bb0fc8763e1795781da8eb4f8dd2407
Thanks! I actually started the head with those exact pieces, but the angle was too great and didn't recreate the right shape of Vader's helmet.

Good choice to leave out the back drop. Great recreation of an iconic scene. It's tough being called Luke, people always quote the "Luke, I am your father" line at you... it gets tiresome, especially as the line is actually "No, I am your father" (as well all know here). Anyway, super build!

hey nice...but the last picture with the background.....move it back a bit....if you do that, it gives the illusion that it is in the distance....but how it is...it just looks like a wall right next to the walkway. but the figures are perfect.

Haha great and George Vader's eyes are very dark but they have red eyelenses as seen from inside in ROTS- and we can see they are very dark red in movies as well- that's why he is so angry he sees red all the time :P

Looks great! For the backdrop to work, it would need to be farther away and out of focus, so it doesn't look like they are fighting against a wall.
