I've just relized that in my haste of realizing I've forgotten to comment, that I forgot to comment. Those curvy tracks are freaking me out, man. What's really cool about that is it would actually be plausible (if the mechanical side of my brain is functioning properly)... |

WHAT!? I swear I had already commented on this. I explicitly remember doing so! That means you must have deleted it to make me feel like a forgetful chump! I'm on to you. It's a conspiracy! A CONSPIRACY I TELL Y....wait...wait yeah actually I definitely remember looking at this and not commenting.... Uhmm....wanna get some pizza? |

This is still funny, Dude! Is is still on the dinning room table? Anywho, you've missed a bit of action, but I see you've joined the MOCies. And it's easy enough for just about anyone to come up with a long form birth certificate, so don't sweat it!
Later, Chief!

Thanks. I'm going to try and check in every few weeks. And I suspect I will not be able to resist building something once in a while. But my builds are likely to be quite modest, except for a castle project I'm sharing with my son. |

This is incredibly inventive! Now I'm no physics major, but I think this could actually work fine. It would rip the living Shire out of the ground as it moved, but it should maneuver just fine. Those hairy footed Hobbits don't have a chance! |

Nice, but if Sauron had tread technology and the means to create mobile tanks, LOTR would have gone like this: "Once upon a time Frodo walked out of his hobbit hole, nearly soiled himself and ran back inside. Then everyone ran away to the Grey Havens and smuggled themselves on Elven ships to get away. THE END." LOL. Nice tank though!
It's cold hard sense like yours that Tolkien had to stay well away from in order to get through his work. I kind of like your version. |

Perhaps I should clarify: the crazy, seemingly impossible tread, actually makes me think of magic. Black Magic that is. In my mind I see the tread chewing up the ground and bringing it inward toward the 'mouth', dragging with it any fleeing Brandybucks. Of course, I'm just chillin' with Giggles, so I see all kinds of stuff in my mind. =P ~H |

Fascinating! Do those treads really work? And where's the driver? Is his seat in the 'taint?
Yes, the tracks work. They were supposed to be a conversation starter ... The "mouth" at the bow is purely visual, to scare the hobbits. The top hatch is for the commander. The rear orifice is the access hatch for crew and passangers. |

I thought the write up made things clear, but I guess not. The tracks are pure fantasy for visual wow, like several of Nannan's. The tracks were never meant to work or make physical sense in any way. Geez, people. Some leeway for imagination. |
