Purist Space Marines
Here is my second attempt at making a Space Marine. However, this time they are 100% pure Lego! No decals or card shoulder armour! Enjoy! (p.s. this is not necessaraly meant to be Halo, it could be Star Wars! Just enjoy the Marine-e-ness!)
About this creation
Again, I have hosted the images on Flikr to get a better quality.

Space Marine 1

Space Marine 2

Here is the Blue Marine. He carries a pair of electro-binoculars, an Uzi (I have a small knowledge of gun types, please correct me on a real name :D), a small knife for close combat and a larger gun on his back.

Space MArine 3

How I love that body armour :)

Space Marine 4

Here is the Grey Marine. He carries the same weapons as the Blue Marine but has a large rifle on his back.

Space Marine 5

Are you wondering why their arms are wrapped in bandages? It's because it gives the Marines' extra protection on their arms whilst allowing them to be light-weight and give good mobility.

Space Marine 6

The Blue Marine with his armour removed. The helmet is created using the Series 1 Spaceman's helmet with an ARC gear (?) visor piece.

Space Marine 7

The Grey Marine in "Combat" gear.

(p.s. Callan: After your suggestion in my last MOC, I made a base :D)

Quoting Monkeyboy 1 Very nice, and purist to boot! Where did you get the white helmets, I know there are gray ones in the Minifigure series... Thank you in advance! :)
The white ones are from CM series 1: Spaceman. In series 3 you can get Black ones, in SP3 you can get grey ones and in World Racers you can get multicoloured ones.

Quoting Smarmy Bloke These figures are excellent. I love Sci-Fi, but I am slightly fed up with Star Wars and Halo. I prefer when people create there own sort of vehicles or minfigures from a completely new galaxy. These are pure Lego which is great.
Thanks! Generic sci-fi figs for the win!

Quoting MCLegoboy ! These look amazing. I totally agree with the videogames, I'm terrible, too. I need six buttons or less with a combination of two needing to be used at the same time, anymore than that, and I'm out. Heck, I am even terrible at the Wii. It's okay though, I've still got my LEGO, and a nearly 20 year old pinball machine in my house, not that I'm bragging or anything, but I'm getting really good at that. Back to the important stuff; I think the Blue one's better(More partial to Black ARC Gear), but I like the use of the Samuri Armor for the other guy. I can't believe I'm doing this, but if you go to my page, check out this Purist Boba Fett I made. I wish I could get the pieces to make another of him to keep together. I know this makes me seem desperate, but I just want to show off something that looks amazing for a minifigure. Anyway, great job on these guys.
I like pinball but I don't have a machine so I play it on my ipod :) Sure, I'll check your Boba out.

Quoting W. Mark Neither of these guys looks particularly Halo-esque, but they're pretty cool nonetheless. Way to show the unwashed masses how it's done, no box knife required. I can tell you, however, that those guns are definitely not Uzis, as the magazines are in the wrong place. You could just call them "Carbines" or "Submachine Guns."
I wasn't trying to make them look like Halo guys, I hate Halo! Tahnks for commenting!

Quoting Johann Dakitsch Great páir of figs. This is a good example of how Lego itself offers plenty of possibilities without the need of any modifying. I suppose some things are truly impossible to do with Lego, but most of them are not.
Some details (particuarly arms) are extremly difficult to do!

A blue back ground works well for me as there aren't really any bright spots. You have to get lights pointing from all directions. Get a Flikr account, post images there and copy the HTML codes off there when uploading a new MOC: Flikr doesn't mess the pictures up. Don't compress your images, just take them from flikr.
