ED-209
ED-209 robot droid Robocop
About this creation
This is the ED-209 enforcement droid from the RoboCop movies.
Good ol' ED has been on my things-to-build list for ages, and happens to be one of my all-time favorite movie "villains".

I guess you could call this my first LEGO "Mecha".
I tried to make him as poseable as possible, thinking that it would be fun to animate him.
I didn't quite achieve full articulation, but I learned a lot in the process.

   The arms are fully articulated,

the shoulder guards are hinged to match the movement of the arms,

the head/cephalothorax turns on the hips,

the legs are static from the waist to the ankles,

but the ankles work and the toes are all jointed.

I think the legs might be a bit big.
He looks like someone took 2 different models in 2 different scales, cut them both in half and put the small top on the large bottom.

Make a little love

A pose where its fallen and can't get up would be so fun. Robocop decals on a minifig in the foreground would be crazy fun too- though the helmet might be hard to replicate. Looks almost too good as you gotta look real close to know its lego.

This is the absolutely best ED-209 I have ever seen. Perfect, even though I haven;t watched the movie. (LOL)
